August 26 – 31, 2021 News Release

Threats

August 26, 2021 the Brockville Police Service received a call from a 24-year-old female requesting police assistance in regards to a dispute with another female.  During that call the accused/complainant threatened to stab the female she was having an argument with.  She was arrested for uttering a threat shortly before noon.  She will appear in court at a later date.

 

Follow-up to Stabbing on August 10, 2021

August 10, 2021 at 9:31 PM, ambulance services contacted the Brockville Police Service requesting assistance with a 45-year-old male that had been stabbed in the abdomen.  The male was located on King Street West by both paramedics and police.  He was transported to Kingston General Hospital for his serious, but not life threatening injuries. The incident had taken place approximately an hour earlier outside of a residence on Millwood Avenue. 

On August 12, 2021 at 3:46 PM, officers on routine patrol on Pearl Street West arrested a 39-year-old female in relation to this incident.  She has been charged with aggravated assault, robbery and failing to comply with a probation order.  She is in custody at this time awaiting a bail hearing.

August 26, 2021 at 12:46 PM, a 40-year-old male was arrested in relation to this incident.  The accused was located on Parkedale Avenue.  He is charged jointly with the 39-year-old female. He was held in custody and will appear at bail court on September 1st

 

Assault

August 19, 2021 at 10:34 PM, a witness contacted the Brockville Police Service to report an altercation he had witnessed on William Street that involved several young persons.  Officers attended the area and located a male with some facial injuries a distance away.  The 20-year-old male victim was transported to Brockville General Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation led to the arrest of a 16-year-old male and an 18-year-old male.  They are charged with assault with a weapon and aggravated assault.  The 16-year-old male surrendered to police on the 26th of August and the 18-year-old male was arrested today shortly after noon. 

 

Warrants

August 27, 2021 at 1:07 AM, an officer on routine patrol on George Street observed a 39-year-old male that was wanted on a warrant for breaching his probation order.  He was arrested without incident and held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Domestic Assault

August 20, 2021 at 8:40 PM, officers responded to a domestic incident at a residence on Pearl Street.  As a result, a 40-year-old male has been charged with 2 counts of assault, assault with a weapon and uttering a threat against a 36-year-old female.  He was arrested on August 28 at 1:50 PM when officers located him at the same residence.  He was held in custody for a bail hearing in the future.

 

Assault

August 29, 2021 at 2:41 PM, officers were called to the corner of King Street West and John Street for a disturbance/fight taking place.  A 55-year-old male (accused) and a 31-year-old male (victim) had an intense argument that turned physical.  The accused suddenly lunged forward and struck the victim several times.  He was arrested, charged with assault and will appear in court at a later date.

 

Theft/weapons

On August 29, 2021 at 2:44 PM, officers responded to reports of a shoplifter from Canadian Tire on Parkedale Ave.  The 50-year-old accused male was observed by a Loss Prevention Officer (LPO)  selecting items, concealing them and exit the store without any attempt to pay.  The male fled on foot pursued by the LPO.  Police were contacted as the LPO gave chase.  As the LPO was running after the suspect, he turned and pulled a knife on him.  The LPO wisely kept his distance until police arrived.  Police located and arrested the male at 2399 Parkedale Avenue.  He was charged with theft, assault with a weapon, resist arrest and fail to comply with a probation order.  He was held in custody with his next appearance on September 2.

 

Assault

August 29th 2021 at 6:45 PM, a 34-year-old female confronted two males at the intersection and proceeded to pepper spray one of the males in the face. It is unknown what provoked the attack.  The accused was identified by witnesses and surrendered to police on August 31st  around noon.  She has been held in custody for a bail hearing. 

 

 

 

August 24 – 26, 2021 News Release

Bail Violations

On August 24, 2021 at 10:05 PM, officers located a 78-year-old male was spotted in Centeen Park by an off duty officer.  The male was on conditions not to out of his residence after 8:00 PM.  He was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Theft

On August 24, 2021 at 11:14 PM, officers were called to 10 Glenn Wood Place in response to a complaint about a theft of mail.  Witnesses reported that a male suspect had pried open mailboxes in the lobby of the building using a large knife.   A description was provided to the responding officers who located the 32-year-old accused male a short distance away.  He was arrested for the theft and searched.  The officers located the knife and stolen mail. The male was also on a release order from previous charges and a probation order from a previous conviction.   He was held in custody for a bail hearing charged with two counts of breaching a probation order, breach of a release order, two counts of mischief, possession of stolen property and possession of B&E tools. 

 

Warrants

August 25, 2021 at 4:18 AM, an officer on routine patrol located a 33-year-old male that had a warrant for his arrest for failing to attend court.  He was located on Garden Street and arrested without incident.  He was released at the scene with a new court date.

 

Domestic

August 25, 2021 at 5:47 PM, officers were called to a hotel on Kent Boulevard for a possible domestic incident.  As a result of their investigation, a 41-year-old male was arrested and charged with two counts of historical assaults on a 39-year-old female.  He was later released from custody with a future court date.

 

August 24, 2021 News Release

Drive Disqualified

August 24, 2021 at 1:38 AM, a member of the Brockville Police conducted a traffic stop on King Street East.  The 47-year-old driver of the vehicle was prohibited from driving due to criminal code conviction. The male was charged with operating while prohibited and had his vehicle impounded for 45 days.  He was also charged with failing to comply with a probation order.

 

August 21 – 23, 2021 News Release

Bail Violations

August 21, 2021 at 9:38 AM, an officer on routine patrol spotted a 59-year-old male on William Street at Brock Street.  The officer had information that the male was wanted by our service for breaching bail condition.  The male had failed to attend meetings as was required by his release.  He was arrested without incident and held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Disturb the Peace/Warrants

August 20, 2021 at 8:46 AM, officers responded to a disturbance at one of the hotels on Kent Boulevard.  Staff reported that a female was in one of the rooms yelling and screaming.  Officers attended, discovered that the female was the sole occupant of the room and that she had a warrant for her arrest for breaching a probation condition.  She was arrested and released with a future court date.

 

Disturb the Peace

August 20, 2021 at 10:50 PM, officers were called to the area of King Street West and John Street for an unknown disturbance.  Upon their arrival officers were confronted by an intoxicated 30-year-old male.  The male was pointed out as the reason for the disturbance.  He was eventually arrested and held in custody until he was sober.  He was charged under the Liquor Licence Act for being intoxicated in a public place.

 

Mischief

August 22, 2021 at 9:30 AM, officers were called to an apartment on Water Street for a disturbance in one of the units.  A 37-year-old male was arrested for mischief and uttering a threat to the complainant.  The male was intoxicated and had caused damage to the residence of the complainant as well as threatening them.  He was charged with released with a future court date.

 

Other arrests

August 22, 2021 at 10:00 PM, the Brockville Police received a call to check on the well-being of a 37-year-old male in the rear lot of a King Street West address.  Officers located the male who had a warrant for his arrest for failing to attend court.  He was arrested and given a future court date.  The male was also taken to the Brockville General Hospital due to  medical concerns.

August 21, 2021 at 2:56 PM, officers were called to a King Street West apartment building for a complaint of a male causing a disturbance.  Officers located a 22-year-old male who was arrested on the strength of a probation warrant that was recently issued.  He was held in custody for bail hearing.

August 21, 2021 at 5:57 PM, officers located a 23-year-old male on King Street West who was on a release condition to remain inside his residence.  He was arrested for contravening that order and held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

 

August 18 – 20, 2021 News Release

Indecent Act and Warrants

On August 18, 2021 at approximately 1:00 PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint regarding a male exposing himself on King ST. W. Officers attended and investigation revealed that a 35 year old male was still in the area and was responsible for the act. It was also learned that this male had a warrant for his arrest regarding a breach of his release order conditions. He was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Drugs

On August 19, 2021 at approximately 1:00AM, officers from the Brockville Police Service performed a traffic stop in the area of Bramshot Ave. During the stop it was discovered that the two occupants were in possession of 7.5 grams of cocaine. The occupants were a 46 year old male and 43 year old female. Both were arrested and released with a future court date for the offence of possession of cocaine.

 

Warrants

On August 19, 2021 at approximately 7:30PM, the Brockville Police Service learned that the O.P.P. had arrested a 27 year old male during one of their investigations who had an arrest warrant out of Brockville. The warrant was for failing to attend court. The male was transported to the Brockville Police Service where the warrant was executed and he was released with a new court date.

Further;

On August 19, 2021 at approximately 4:30 PM, in the area of Pearl St. E., officers from the Brockville Police Service located and arrested a 34 year old male on a warrant for uttering counterfeit money, fraud and breach probation. He was arrested and brought to the Brockville Police Service and was later released on an undertaking with a future court date.

 

 

August 17 – 18, 2021 News Release

Impaired

On August 17, 2021 at approximately 7:30PM,  the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Parkedale Ave. Officers attended the area and located the suspect vehicle. The driver was a 45 year old male who resides in the area. Due to his intoxicated state he was quickly arrested for impaired driving. He was taken to the Brockville Police Service for further testing however, he refused to comply with providing breath samples. He was charged with impaired driving and refusing to provide a sample. He was held in custody until he was sober and released with a future court date.

 

Mischief

On August 17, 2021 at approximately 10:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received multiple complaints from residents in the area of Wellington St. regarding the sound on an explosion. Residents could see clouds of smoke in the area. Officers arrived on scene and investigation revealed that a 27 year old male was intoxicated and had been in possession of a simulator ground burst used in military training. He had set this item off and this was the cause of the explosion sound that disturbed and startled multiple residents in the area. The male was arrested for the offence of mischief. He was released once sober with a future court date.

August 13 – 15, 2021 News Release

Warrants

On August 13, 2021 at approximately 10:30 AM on Perth St., the Brockville Police Service located and arrested a 35 year old male who had an outstanding arrest warrant for breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing and was released by the courts with a future court date.

Further;

On August 14, 2021 the Ottawa Police Service had located and arrested a 19 year old male who also had an outstanding arrest warrant for breach of probation. The Brockville Police Service held the arrest warrant. The male was escorted to the Brockville Police and was held in custody after a bail hearing.

 

Domestic Dispute

On August 14, 2021 at approximately 6:00 AM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint about yelling and shouting between a male and female in the area of Crocker Cres. Officers attended and located the male and female in that area standing near a vehicle. Investigation revealed that the involved 33 year old female had assaulted the male she was with. Officers also learned that the female was bound by bail conditions to abstain communication with the involved male as a result of previous domestic incidents. She was arrested for assault and breach of her undertaking. She was held in custody after her bail hearing.   

 

August 10 – 13, 2021 News Release

Domestic

August 13, 2021 shortly after 12:00 AM, officer were dispatched to a domestic dispute on Perth Street.  A 48-year-old male was arrested for assaulting his common-law spouse after returning home from a local licensed establishment.  He was charged with one count of assault and was released from custody with a future court date.

August 11 – 12, 2021 News Release

Impaired

August 11, 2021 at approximately 5:30 PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Laurier Boulevard.  Officers located and stopped a black Saturn on Laurier Blvd. at Peden Blvd.  The 39-year-old female driver failed a roadside screening device.  She was arrested for driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in her system and transported to the station for a breath test performed by a qualified technician.  She provided samples of her breath that were more than double the legal limit.  She was charged with drive with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol and impaired operation of a conveyance.  She will appear in court at a date in the future.

 

 

August 9 – 11, 2021 News Release

Trespass

August 9, 2021 at 12:12 PM, officers were called to the train station on Perth Street for a male that had removed from an inbound train for not having a ticket.  After the male was removed he attempted to buy a ticket, but while doing so he threatened staff at the station.  The 66-year-old male was arrested by officers for uttering a threat. He was not charged and later released unconditionally.

 

Warrants/assault police

August 10, 2021 at 9:46 AM, members of the Brockville Police Service responded to a domestic dispute at an apartment on Cartier Court.  The dispute did not lead to any charges, but the 26-year-old female involved had a warrant for her arrest for failing to attend court.  She attempted to run from officers, but was apprehended after a short foot chase. The accused was brought to the station and held in custody for a bail hearing.  During her time in the cells, she spat on two officers.  She now is facing additional charges of assaulting police.

 

Stabbing

August 10, 2021 at 9:31 PM, ambulance services contacted the Brockville Police Service requesting assistance with a 45-year-old male that had been stabbed in the abdomen.  The male was located on King Street West by both paramedics and police.  He was transported to Kingston General Hospital for his serious, but not life threatening injuries. The incident had taken place approximately an hour earlier outside of a residence on Millwood Avenue.  The investigation is continuing at this time.  This is an isolated incident between persons known to each other.
