June 24 – 26, 2016 Incidents

Breach of Probation

On June 24th at 3:37 pm, Brockville Police attended a family dispute in the center of the city.

A local 16 year old youth was fighting with his mother and threw a toy at her. The youth was on probation with conditions, two of which he was breaching. He was arrested and charged with the probation charges and later released with conditions.

 

Breach of Recognizance

On June 24th at 5:31 pm, Brockville Police charged a local 34 year old female with breaching her recognizance.

In March of this year she was released on conditions which included a duty to report to the Brockville Police every Monday and Friday. After being warned on numerous dates about missing or signing in late, she missed her time again. She was charged with breaching her release conditions and given a new court date for the offence.

 

Breach of Undertaking

On June 24th at 10:48 pm, Brockville Police attended a south end apartment building to retrieve property.

Two males, 27 and 21 years of age, had a dispute which resulted in the younger male taking property belonging to the other party. While Police were speaking with him, another local male, 29 years of age, was also present trying to help. Problem is, the local, 29 year old was an undertaking with a curfew condition. He was to be at home rather than interacting with Police. He was informed of the infraction and went home but not before receiving a new court date for breaching the undertaking.

 

Theft from Residence

On June 25th at 2:24 am, Brockville Police attended a north end residence for a theft complaint.

Unknown culprit(s) entered both the vehicle and residence of the victim. A purse within the residence had money removed from it and a house key had been removed from the vehicle and a small amount of money taken from inside.

The family dog woke up the resident who observed both entry doors to the house wide open and the vehicle door ajar. The investigation is continuing.

 

Domestic Dispute / Charges

On June 25th at 11:40 am, Brockville Police attended a domestic dispute at a residence in the central east portion of the city.

A local 34 year old female reported her husband had punched her in the face and arm as well as choked her. He also punched holes in the walls of the residence. He had left the area prior to Police arrival but turned himself in after a phone conversation.

The husband was charged with assault, choking and mischief. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Theft

On June 25th at 4:08 pm, Brockville Police attended a north end box store for a theft complaint.

An unknown male stole items and took off on foot, last seen in the area of Home Depot. He was described as in his 40’s, 5’9″, dark shorts, black muscle shirt and had cuts to his lips. Officers are still trying to identify the man. The stolen property was not recovered.

 

Group Home Dispute

On June 25th at 6:37 pm, Brockville Police attended a south end mental health group home after a dispute turned physical.

Two women, 53 and 57 years of age, got into an altercation with the older woman being the aggressor. Officers escorted her to hospital for appropriate action, no charges were laid.

 

Drive-By / Charges

On June 25th at 7:25 pm, Brockville Police attended a family dispute on King Street West.

A local Mom was driving in her car and discovered a bong (used to smoke marijuana) within the vehicle.   She confronted her 17 year old son and he threw the item out the car window striking another passing motorist.

The youth was already on conditions for outstanding charges and was breached on those conditions as well as a new charge of mischief for damages to the other car.

 

Too Drunk for Getaway

On June 26th at 1:07 pm, Brockville Police attended the VIA Rail Station on Perth Street for an intoxicated female.

The local 49 year old was drunk enough to be denied entry on the train or into a cab. She was arrested and charged with public intoxication and taken into custody to sleep it off. A fine was issued when she was released.

 

Assault Times Two

On June 26th at 2:12 pm, Brockville Police attended a family dispute at a south end residence.

A local 43 year old woman assaulted her sister in her home. She also broke a glass and used a shard of it to threaten her. The victim had her necklace tore off in the process.

Officers arrested the intoxicated subject and while enroute to the station, she spit blood at the escorting Police. She then flooded the cell area by stuffing her pants into a toilet.  Now, headed to bail court, she faces charges of assault, mischief, assault with a weapon and assault police.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

 

Mischief

On June 26th at 3:09 pm, Brockville Police attended a mischief complaint in the south end of the city.

A cyclist pulled out in front of a motorist and words were exchanged. The man on the bike, a local 39 year old, got so upset he threw his bike at the vehicle causing damage. He then fled the area but another male identified the party on the bike.

Later, Officers arrested the man and charged him with mischief. He was released with a future court date.
