September 23 – 25, 2016 Incidents

Break/Enter/Theft

On September 23rd at 8:55 am, Brockville Police attended the St. John Bosco Rectory in the north end of the city. Overnight, an unknown suspect(s) entered the rear door and removed a Samsung cell phone.

The investigation into responsible parties is ongoing.

 

Theft From Vehicle

On September 23rd at 9:21 am, Brockville Police received a complaint concerning a theft from a vehicle in the north end of the city. The victim had her purse and wallet stolen.

 

Assault

On September 23rd at 10:29 pm, Brockville Police attended a bar on King Street West in regards to an assault.

A local 43 year old man was assaulted by several other males. He suffered a laceration to his head and facial injuries requiring medical treatment. The injuries are not life threatening. The investigation into suspects continues since witnesses nor the victim were cooperative with Officers at the time of the incident.

 

Female Wanted on Warrant

On September 24th at 3:59 pm, Brockville Police received information from the Kingston Police concerning a woman in their custody.

The local 27 year old was wanted by our Service after failing to appear for her fingerprints. She was arrested and charged with failing to appear and released with a new court date.

 

Female Overdose

On September 25th at 1:12 am, Brockville Police attended a south end residence after a local woman overdosed. The local 28 year old started having issues after injecting cocaine. Another female and a male were present in the residence at the time. She was taken to hospital by ambulance for appropriate treatment.

 

Bail Violation

On September 25th at 3:25 am, Brockville Police observed a local 40 year old man walking on Front Avenue West. Officers on general patrol recognized the male and were also aware he was on a recognizance for outstanding charges that included numerous conditions. One of those conditions involved a curfew. The man was arrested and charged with breaching his recognizance as well as an outstanding probation order. He was released with a future court date.

 

Knife Assault

On September 25th at 9:13 pm, Brockville Police received a 911 call in which a man was reporting he was almost stabbed in the face. Other men could be heard in the background.

Officers attended the King Street East residence and looked in the front window observing a male known to them, holding a knife to the face of the victim. As Police entered the home, the accused threw the knife aside. The local 26 year old was arrested immediately for assault with a weapon. Investigation revealed the accused and another male broke into the residence and smashed a quantity of the victim’s property. The victim returned home to find the two males in the apartment. He knew them and was afraid, he tried to be nice so they would just leave. The accused would often punch the victim in the face while they remained in the home. The victim, 45 years of age, was noted to have a swollen face and small lacerations. He refused medical attention. The third male, a local 36 year old, was arrested and charged with break and enter and mischief. He was released on conditions with a future court date. The 26 year old was charged with break and enter, assault with a weapon, assault, mischief and breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing.
