December 8 – 9, 2016 Incidents

Mental Health Apprehension

36 year old local male apprehended for a mental health assessment. On the 8th of December, 2016 at approximately 17:45 hours, the Brockville Police Service received a report in regards to the above described male. The complainant indicated concerns over comments being made and messages sent by the male to cause harm to himself. The male was located and transported to the Brockville General Hospital for evaluation by psychiatric staff.

 

Cause Disturbance and Mischief

Male arrested and charged for a disturbance outside a local licensed establishment. On the 9th of December, 2016 at approximately 2:15 a.m., a 21 year old male was arrested for causing a disturbance out front of a downtown licensed establishment. The arrested male was intoxicated which added to the cause of the problem. He was transported to the Brockville Police Service and held in cells until sober. While there, damage was caused in the cell block area which resulted in a charge of mischief.

 

Attempt Entry to a Residence

Male arrested for attempting to enter a residence while intoxicated. On the 9th of December, 2016 at approximately 5:30a.m., an intoxicated 23 year old male attempted to enter a residence in the South end of the city. The owner of the residence did not know the male suspect and found that minor damage was caused. The suspect was located and arrested. It was also learned he was on bail conditions of a curfew and to abstain from alcohol consumption. The male was held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Shoplifting

3 males, 18 years of age, arrested and charged for theft. On the 9th of December 2016, at approximately 12:45 p.m., a loss prevention officer at a local department store arrested 3 young males. The males were all involved together in a minor theft. Each male was released at the scene with a court date for the theft.
