April 11 – 14, 2019 Incidents

RIDE

On Friday April 12th at 10:00 p.m. officers conducted a RIDE program on William St. The officers were only set up conducting the RIDE for one hour. During that time they issued one Highway Traffic Act charge, three charges under the Cannabis Control Act (for having cannabis accessible) and one 3 day suspension. The 3 day suspension is directly related to alcohol as the driver blew a “warn” on a road side screening device.

Pursuit

On April 11th, 2019 at 8:45 p.m. officers observed a 12 foot enclosed trailer being towed on a downtown street. The trailer had been reported stolen earlier in the day. Officers activated their emergency equipment and attempted to pull the vehicle over.   The vehicle did not stop and a short pursuit was initiated. The driver of the vehicle ended up stopping and fleeing the vehicle. Brockville’s K9 Diesel conducted a track and located the suspect. A 44 year old male is now facing charges of obtaining property by crime, flight from police, dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision. The male had hit a pole during the pursuit.

Motor Vehicle Collision

On the 14th of April 2019 at 6:15 p.m. police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Stewart Boulevard south of Laurier Boulevard. Three parties were taken to Brockville General Hospital; all with non-life threatening injuries. A 23 year old male was charged with failing to yield from a private drive.
