April 27 – 28, 2020 News Release

On the morning of April 27th 2020 the Brockville Police received a call from City Taxi of a 26 year old male who was using drugs and refusing to leave a cab in the downtown area.  Upon police arrival the male refused to identify himself and he was arrested under the Trespass to Property Act.  He was released once identified and charged.

Five hours later police received a second call about the same male.  It was learned there had been a previous incident to the original call.  The male had attended a downtown apartment, brandished a knife after forcing his way inside and left with property belonging to the tenant.  While at this address a couch was set on fire.  The 26 year old male now faces additional criminal charges of robbery, arson, and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

A water main broke at the intersection of Stewart Blvd and Parkedale Ave.  The lanes are reduced at the intersection as city crews work to fix the problem.  As well Parkedale Ave. is closed westbound from Windsor Dr. to Stewart Blvd.
