April 28 – 29, 2017 Incidents

Shoplifting

On the 28th of April, 2017 at approximately 11:30, 3 youths were arrested for shoplifting in one of the North End department stores in the City. The theft was of a minor value and the items were recovered. All 3 youths were released without charges to their parents, however, have been diverted from court with an extrajudicial measure.

 

Warrants

On the 28th of April, 2017 at approximately 2:20p.m., a 36 year old local male turned himself into the Brockville Police Service on a bench warrant. The warrant was issued for the offences of failing to attend court, breaching his Officer In Charge Undertaking and also breaching his Recognizance. The male is being held in custody awaiting his next bail hearing on Monday the 1st May, 2017.

 

On the 29th of April, 2017 at approximately 12:00p.m., the Brockville Police Service located a 32 year old, local male, who had an outstanding warrant for two counts of breach probation. He was arrested and transported to the Brockville Police Service where he was later released on a promise to appear with a court date to answer to the charges.

 

Disturbance and Assault Police

On the 28th of April, 2017 at approximately 10:00p.m., the Brockville Police Service received a call of a local, 54 year old male who was very intoxicated in the downtown area of the City. He was described as walking in and out of traffic and falling down to the point that police received multiple calls. Officers attended to the scene to find two citizens holding the male. Officers took custody of the male. During that time, the male attempted to assault police officers by kicking them. He was transported to the Brockville Police Service to be lodged until sober. On multiple other occasions during that process, officers were assaulted by the male. The assaults were minor and officers sustained no injuries. Once sober, the male was release with a court date to answer to the offences of assault police and cause disturbance by being intoxicated.
