April 8 – 10, 2022 News Release

Threats:

A female has been charged after making threatening comments. On April 8, 2022 at about 9:00AM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint that a 41-year-old female was leaving threatening messages at another person’s place of work. As a result of the investigation, it was determined that there was a concern for safety. The 41-year-old female was arrested and charged with uttering threats. She was released with conditions and a future court date.

 

Theft:

A female has been charged with theft after shoplifting. On April 8, 2022 at about 3:00PM, the Brockville Police Service responded to the Real Canadian SuperStore in response to a shoplifter. Police learned that the shoplifter was a 46-year-old female. The female paid for some of the property in her cart, however, concealed other items and made no attempt to pay for them. She was stopped by security and all items were recovered. She was charged with theft under $5,000.00 and released with a future court date.

 

Domestic Disturbance:

A male has been charged after a domestic disturbance call. On April 9, 2022 at about 4:30AM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint regarding a domestic dispute on Perth St. Investigation revealed that a 23-year-old male, who was the ex-boyfriend of the victim, attended to the victim’s and began causing damage. The damage consisted of eggs being thrown at the residence, damage to a vehicle window and flower pots turned over. The victim attempted to record what was happening on her phone. This lead to a struggling match as the male physically assaulted the victim to take the phone to prevent her from recording him. On April 10, 2022 at about 10:00AM, the 23-year-old male was arrested. He was interviewed and released on an undertaking with conditions for the offences of robbery and two counts of mischief under $5,000.00.  

 

Breaching Conditions:

A male is back in custody after breaching conditions. On April 10 at about 1:00AM, the Brockville Police Service had received information that a 37-year-old male, was not abiding by his conditions. Officers located the male in the area of Tunnel Ave. as he was leaving an area which, he is on conditions not to be within 100m of, due to safety concerns. It was found that this male had recently been released from custody at the Brockville Jail on a temporary absence permit. He was to abide by the very conditions he was found breaching. The male was arrested and upon searching him, officers located 4 grams of crystal meth and a metal pipe hidden up his sleeve. This pipe was being carried to be used as a weapon. The male was held in custody for a bail hearing and charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, possession of crystal meth, unlawfully at large and two counts of fail to comply with probation.
