Breach of Release Conditions
On August 23rd, a local 48 year old female was placed on probation for various offences. One of the conditions of her probation was to have no contact with a local 30 year old woman.
On August 24th, the accused was arrested for breaching her probation by attending the other woman’s residence. She was released at that time and placed on conditions. On August 25th at 6:44 am, she again attended the victim’s residence and was located by Police at the scene. This time she was arrested and charged with breaching her probation as well as the new conditions from a day earlier. She was held in custody for a bail hearing yesterday and remanded into further custody until August 30th.
Breaching House Arrest
On August 13th, a local 27 year old male failed to return to a south end group home in time for his curfew. He had been released on conditions by a Justice of the Peace, one of which was an 8:00 pm return time every evening.
He was arrested on August 19th and held for a bail hearing. At the hearing, new conditions were issued by the Justice which included having to remain at the home at all times.
On August 25th at 9:14 am, staff at the group home contacted Police indicating the man had left the home.
On August 26th at 8:00 am, Officers on general patrol observed the accused outside a north end grocery store. He was arrested and charged with breaching his undertaking and held for another bail hearing.
Multiple Thefts
On August 25th at 11:29 am, Brockville Police attended a department store in the center of the city for a theft complaint.
Staff reported a local 72 year old female had stolen $150.00 worth of merchandise on August 24th. Investigation revealed the suspect is responsible for the theft of several thousand dollars worth of items in the last month or so. The case is still under investigation and numerous charges of theft will be laid in the near future.
The suspect has not been arrested or charged as of this date.
Assault then Obstruct
On August 25th at 8:39 pm, Brockville Police attended a north end apartment building for a domestic dispute.
A local 51 year old male was assaulted by his 38 year old female partner. During the dispute she threw a household item at him and struck him in the temple causing a minor injury. She then grabbed some alcohol and left the residence on foot.
Officers located her a short distance away but she gave false identification when spoken to. After learning who she actually was, it was discovered she was on probation with a condition not to consume alcohol outside her residence. She was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, breaching her probation and obstruct Police.
She was held in custody, the accused will appear in bail court.
