Overdoses

Over the weekend of August 27-28, 2022, the Brockville Police Service has received an increase in calls for assistance regarding individuals in the community experiencing an overdose. Officers have attended and assisted with administering life saving measures or assisted other emergency services in these calls for service. If you see someone and suspect them to be in need of medical assistance, please call 911. 

 

Probation Conditions Violation

On August 25, 2022 at about 2:00AM, officers from the Brockville Police Service observed a 48-year-old male operating a vehicle in the area of King St. W. This male was known by police to be on probation conditions to not operate a motor vehicle. The male was arrested for failing to comply with his probation. He was charged and released with a future court date.

 

Domestic Disturbance

On August 25, 2022 at about 5:15PM, the Brockville Police Service received a 911 call where a male and female could be heard in the background. Connection on the call was lost shortly after. Officers attended the scene on Dana St. Officers spoke to a male and female involved in the incident. Investigation revealed that a 29-year-old female was in an argument with her male partner. During the argument it was discovered that the female had bitten the males arm. Medical attention was not required for the male. The female was arrested and charged with domestic related assault and later released on conditions with a future court date.

 

Forged Documents Leads to Arrest

On August 25, 2022 at about 9:30PM, in the area of Front Ave., an officer from the Brockville Police Service observed a 40-year-old male, known to be wanted for uttering a forged document. This was in relation to an investigation that initiated the day previous at the Cash 4 You store on Parkedale Ave. The male was arrested for uttering a forged document. Upon searching the male, the officer located tools and a wallet with identification not belonging to him. The male was held in custody for a bail hearing for the offences of utter forged document, two counts of possession stolen property and fail to comply with probation. 

 

Neighbour Dispute Leads to Charges

On August 27, 2022 at about 3:00AM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint regarding a dispute between two neighbours on Glengarry Rd. The dispute initiated by the two communicating on social media sending messages to one another. The dispute escalated to loud music being played and taunting one another. Then, one neighbour observed the other in the area of their back yard with what appeared to be a pistol and was shooting it at their house. Officers attended and investigation revealed that a 32-year-old male was the neighbour responsible. CO2 cartridges and BB’s were observed in the yard. The male was arrested for possessing a weapon for dangerous purpose and mischief under $5,000.00. He was charged and released with conditions.

 

Impaired Driving

On August 28, 2022 at about 2:30AM, the Brockville Police Service received information of a 57-year-old male, who left a party at a residence in the downtown area of Brockville. When the male left, it was said that he was intoxicated and that he left by driving his vehicle. Officers located the male at a residence in the North end of Brockville shortly after arriving home. The male provided a breath sample into a roadside screening device which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and taken to the Brockville Police Service for further testing. Those breath tests concluded that he was operating while over the legal limit. His driver’s licence was suspended, vehicle towed and he was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol over 80mg. He was released once sober with a future court date.   

 

Domestic Disturbance

On August 28, 2022 at about 10:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received a call of a male threatening to kill himself at an address on Salisbury Ave. Information was that a 25-year-old male was in possession of a knife and threatening to take his own life. Officer’s arrived on the scene and were able to take custody of the male and secure the knife for safety. Further investigation revealed that prior to the male threatening to take his life, he was engaged in a domestic dispute with his female partner at the residence. It was discovered that the male had in fact assaulted the female. The female did not required medical attention. The male was arrested for domestic related assault and a held in custody for a bail hearing.
