Warrants

A 49 year old male was arrested for his outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. The male had attended our service to get a copy of his release papers. These papers contained his court date that he had missed. He was released with a new court date, along with his new release papers.

 

Assault

The Brockville Police are investigating an assault that took place on Central Ave. at 9:15 pm. The complaint was called in as a fight between two males, but it is now being treated as an assault. The suspect fled prior to police arrival. The service attempted to track the suspect using our K9, but the track was unsuccessful. The male was transported to Brockville General Hospital for his non-life threating injuries and later released.

May 28, 2018 Incidents

Wanted Male

On Monday May 28th, Kevin Dunn surrendered himself to police in relation to his charges of breach of recognizance.

 

Traffic Collision

A cyclist was struck by a vehicle on Brock St. at Cedar St. May 27th at 5:00 pm. The cyclist was transported to Brockville General Hospital by ambulance for what was described as minor injuries.

No charges will be laid.

May 27, 2018 Incidents

Foot Pursuit

A 14 year old youth that was wanted by Ottawa Police was arrested after a brief foot pursuit in the downtown area. Officers observed the young person Sunday at 12:30 pm on Brock St. He was turned over to the Ottawa Police Service for their warrant.

 

Road Rage

Four parties have been charged under the city by-law for fighting. The fight began over a traffic incident where one couple in a vehicle began to exchange words and hand signals with another couple over their driving habits. The parties then engaged in an altercation in the parking lot of a north end store. They separated and both then decided to contact police to report that they had been assaulted. The investigation revealed ground to charge the parties under the by-law for fighting.

May 26 – 27, 2018 Incidents

Possession Stolen Property

On the 26th of May, 2018, during the Street Eats Festival officers on beat patrol observed a 49 year old male who was wanted for possessing a stolen bike. He was arrested and released with a new court date for the offence of possession of stolen property.

 

Public Intoxication

A 52 year old male and a 22 year old male were both arrested in the south end of the city for public intoxication. They were held in custody until sober and released.

 

Warrants

A 28 year old female was located and arrested for failing to appear for court, she was held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

May 23 – 24, 2018 Incidents

Domestic

At 9:00 am on the 24th of May the Brockville Police Service responded to a 911 call for a possible domestic at a downtown location. Officers attended the residence and arrested a 26 year old male for assault, mischief and breach of probation. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Fire

The Brockville Fire Department along with the Brockville Police Service responded to a working fire at 61 Bartholomew St. The roof of the residence was being replaced and the fire started shortly after workers finished for the day. Brockville Fire worked for several hours to control and extinguish the blaze. There were no injuries reported and the residents were provided with alternative lodging.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it is not believed to be criminal in nature.

 

Theft

A 35 year old male and a 19 year old female were arrested for theft after they left Wal-Mart with a grocery cart full of camping equipment valued at $600. Both parties were charged with theft and released with a future court date.

 

May 22 – 23, 2018 Incidents

Drugs

A 49 year old male was observed by officers on King St. at 1:00 pm and found to be breaching a condition of his probation. The male was arrested by officers and found to be in possession of property obtained by crime and methamphetamine. He has been charged and released with a future court date.

 

May 19 – 21, 2018 Incident

Warrants

On Saturday evening a 32 year old male was arrested for a warrant of committal. He had been released from court on court imposed conditions. His surety rescinded their bail and a warrant was issued.

 

Disturbance

A 33 year old male is facing charges from an incident Saturday night. Police were called to a King St. address for reports of an altercation. It was discovered that the male involved was on conditions not to be at that address. He is now charged with breaching his recognizance and his probation order.

 

Theft

A 50 year old male that is well known to police was arrested Saturday after he was observed removing 5 steaks from the Metro on King St without any attempt to pay.   He was arrested without incident and charged with theft under $5000.

 

Warrants

Police were called to assist paramedics with a medical call on King St as they were having difficulty with the patient. Police assisted the paramedics with a 33 year old female. When she was cleared medically she was arrested for an outstanding warrant. She was later released with a future court date.

 

Break and Enter

On Sunday at 1:00 am police respond to an alarm at “EVAPE” located at 125 Stewart Blvd. Upon their arrival they located a 14 year old suspect inside the store with his pockets filled with merchandise. He was arrested, charged and turned over to his parents.

 

Public Intoxication

While on routine patrol Sunday at 3:00 am police observed a male passed out on the grass in the area of King St. and Clarissa St.   The 33 year old male was discovered to be intoxicated. He was providing lodging until sober for his own safety.

Incident on Cartier Court Update

A 24 year old Brockville man has been arrested and charged with numerous firearms related offences. The accused was held for bail and remanded into custody. He will appear in court on the 22nd of May. For any further information, please contact A/S/Sgt. Harvie or A/S/Sgt. Fournier.

Cartier Court Incident

The Brockville Police responded to reports of a shooting at a Cartier Court apartment building. Officers arrived as a male was being attended to by paramedics. He has been transported to a local hospital and treated for his injuries that have been described as nonlife threatening.

A 24 year old male has been taken into custody and further details will be released as they come in.
