January 2, 2019 Incidents

Domestic

On January 2, 2019 at 10:20 am, police were called to a Perth Street residence in regards to a domestic incident. The 32 year old male had broken into his ex-common law’s residence and assaulted her after an argument. He was later located and arrested for break and enter, assault and failing to comply with conditions of a probation order. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

Arrest

On January 2, 2019 at 11:00 am, while on routine patrol our K9 officer and his partner Diesel spotted a male that was wanted by our service for an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with conditions of his probation. The male fled to his residence. The officer along with Diesel exited their vehicle and ordered the male to surrender. Faced with the possibility of Diesel being deployed the male surrendered. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

Warrants/trespass

On January 2, 2019 at 6:10 pm, police were called to the train station to remove three individuals that were using fraudulent tickets. The males were removed from the train. One male that was identified had an arrest warrant from British Columbia for fraud. He was arrested and held in custody. Officers from BC will be attending Brockville to return him to that province to face his charges.

 

 

 

 

December 31, 2018 – January 1, 2019 Incidents

Traffic Stop/Personation

On January 1, 2019 at 2:30 am a 37 year old male was stopped for a traffic violation on Stewart Boulevard. The male identified himself with a false name in order to avoid being charged for driving while being a suspended driver. Once his real identity was discovered the male was arrested for personation and charged for driving while under suspension. He was released from police custody with a future court date.

Impaired

On January 1, 2019 at 4:18 am, a 59 year old male was observed unconscious behind the wheel of his vehicle on Stewart Boulevard. The complainant contacted to police and continued to monitor the vehicle. The driver regained consciousness and began to operate his vehicle. Police arrived on scene and arrested the male for impaired driving. His vehicle was impounded for 7 days and he was released with a future court date.

Stolen Vehicle

A 2002 Dodge Ram was stolen from the rear of a business on King Street. The vehicle was left running while the owner was inside a local restaurant. When the owner exited the vehicle was observed driving away. The vehicle as later recovered abandoned and is currently being examined by forensics.

Breach of bail conditions

On December 31, 2018 at 11:13 pm, police were called to an apartment on Cartier Court for a female causing a disturbance. Police arrived on scene and observed the female on the balcony of the apartment. She was on bail conditions not to be at the residence. She was arrested and provided with a future court date.

December 29 – 30, 2018 Incidents

Domestic Assault

A 31 year old male is facing charges of theft and failing to comply with bail conditions stemming from a domestic incident early Saturday morning. The male had attended his girlfriend’s apartment after a night of festivities. The male had been consuming alcohol, contrary to is previous release conditions. He was on conditions that included alcohol and a curfew. An argument ensued and the male left the residence taking the complainants phone. Police were contacted and the male was located and arrested. He has been charged and held in custody.

 

Theft

A donated “locomotive bell” that was placed beside the railway tunnel was taken some time between the 24th of December and the 29th of December. The bell weighs 250-300 pounds. December 27 – 28, 2018 Incidents

Warrant/911 call:

A 45 year old female was arrested the 27th of December at 3:45 pm. Police responded to a 911 call from a residence on Kyle Court. While investigating the 911 call officers located the female who was wanted by our service for a breach of probation warrant. She was arrested and later released with a future court date.

Break and Enter:

Police were called to Dowsley Crescent in the city’s west end for a suspicious male. The caller stated that the male was going through construction trailers in the area. A description of the suspect was provided by the caller and he was located a short distance away shortly after midnight. The male was subsequently arrested for numerous offences including: mischief under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime, breach of recognizance of bail, breach of probation and possession of a controlled substance. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Probation Warrant:

On the 28th of December 2018 at 12:30 am, a 27 year old male was brought to the police station by his mother as he was intoxicated. She was seeking advice on how to deal with him. It was learned that there was a warrant for his arrest for a probation violation. He was arrested and then eventually released with a future court date.

Public Intoxication:

In separate incidents on the 26th of December a 55 year old male and a 34 year old male were arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. They were released from custody when sober.

December 25, 2018 Incidents

On the 25th of December, 2018 a 41 year old male was located on King Street contrary to his release conditions where he is supposed to remain in his residence at all times. He was arrested for the breach and held in custody pending a show cause bail hearing.

On the 25th of December, 2018 at approximately 10pm a 30 year old male was arrested for intoxicated in a public place after having a heated physical confrontation with family members and left the residence in the north end of town. He was located and arrested; he was held in custody until sober and released with a fine of $65.

 

 

December 21 – 24, 2018 Incidents

Incidents

Officers attended to a north end business off California Ave. to investigate a Motor Vehicle Collision. A witness became confrontational with one of the drivers. This turned physical and subsequently, further damage to the driver’s vehicle occured. When officers arrived the witness continued to be irate with officers. The witness was subsequently arrested and charged with assault and mischief

Officers attended to a residence as a result of a disturbance call. One of the parties present was found to be breaching he probation order for consuming alcohol. He was issued a future court date.

Officers attended to a Christmas Party after receiving calls of a guest who was heavily intoxicated and out of control. The guest was arrested and released from police custody once they became sober in the morning

Kingston police arrested a subject that the Brockville Police Service currently had an outstanding for theft and possession of property obtained by crime. The subject was returned to Brockville Police to await a bail hearing

A 19 year old male was arrested by police for mischief and Assault as a result of a call to a residence in the city. The subject also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was held for bail

A 20 year old male was arrested for breaching his probation order after he was found in the company of a person that he was not to associate with. He had been held in custody awaiting a bail hearing

 

 

December 19 – 20, 2018 Incidents

Public Intoxication

City staff located an intoxicated male on King St. at 3:40 this morning. The male was discovered unconscious, the result of a little too much alcohol. He was taken into custody by police and held in custody until sober.

Warrants

A 31 year old male was arrested by officers yesterday at 9:00 am. The male had failed to attend court as required and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Officers located the male while they were on routine patrol. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Theft

At 9:45 pm, a loss prevention officer arrested a 26 year old female for shoplifting $200.00 worth of items from The Real Canadian Superstore. Further investigation revealed that the female had also committed a theft at Walmart. She was charged with theft for both occurrences and released with a future court date.

December 18 – 19, 2018 Incidents

Bail Violations

An 18 year old male was arrested this morning for breaching his bail conditions. The arrest is the result of a complaint about a male causing a disturbance on Windsor Dr. The male was observed by witnesses being in the company of persons he was prohibited from associating with. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

Outlaw Motorcycle Gang Investigation

On the 6th of December 2018 the Brockville Police, with the assistance of Ontario Provincial Police – Biker Enforcement Unit, the Belleville Police Service and Kingston Police Service, conducted a search warrant at two Brockville residences. 283 Park Street and Apartment 17 at 16 Cartier Court were raided by the Joint Forces Team in relation to the Outlaws Motorcycle Club and Outlaws support club, the Dead Eyes Motor Cycle Club.

On the 18th of December a fourth male was also arrested in relation to the investigation. The 30 year old male was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

December 17, 2018 Incident

Unwanted Person

A 39 year old male is facing several criminal code charges as the result of two separate incidents on the 17th of December 2018.

At 7:10 am police were called to a King St. residence in response to a complaint of an unwanted guest. Police arrived on scene and arrested the male for damaging property in the residence along with breaching a condition of his probation. He was released from police custody with a future court date.

The male immediately returned to the residence and threatened the home owner. He was arrested again and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

December 14 – 17, 2018 Incidents

Warrants

On the 14th of November, 2018, at 14:45 hours, the accused parties a 22 year old male and a 23 year old female were at the Walmart located at 1942 Parkedale Avenue in the City of Brockville.

At approximately 15:45 hours, the accused parties attempted to leave the store with a cart full of groceries. It was at that time they were asked for the receipt of payment, when they produced a receipt from the day earlier, with only three items on it. When confronted with this by store staff, they explained that the other receipt was in the car and that they would attend to the car to get it. Police were notified and they were charged with theft.

After being placed in the rear of the police vehicle, the male accused, lay on his back on the seat and proceeded to kick the top of the rear driver’s side door with both feet, springing the door from the vehicle, causing damage.

On the 7th of December 2018 both accused were to appear in court and failed to do so.

On the 14th of December 2018, both surrendered to police for their outstanding warrants. They were arrested without incident.

 

Public Intoxication

On Friday evening a 39 year old female was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. The female had been at a north end establishment and was located by police on the street, not able to care for herself. She was arrested and held in custody for her own safety.

 

Break and Enter

Police were called to an apartment on Kensington Parkway on Saturday December 15, 2018 at 3:49 pm. The complainant had contacted police to report that an unknown female had entered the apartment and taken some items.

Officers later dealt with a 23 year old female in an unrelated matter. The female had identified herself with another person’s identity to avoid arrest as she had a warrant out of Newfoundland. She was arrested for identity fraud. Officers then developed grounds to arrest the female for the break and enter on Kensington Parkway. She was later released from custody with a future court date.

 

Drugs

On Sunday at 1:00 am a 50 year old female was located and arrested by police as she had a warrant for her arrest for failing to attend court. A search incident to arrest led to the discovery of a quantity of drugs. She was arrested and released with a future court date.

 

Christmas Party Troubles

Officers had to intervene early Sunday morning after one individual attempted to engage his fellow employees in an altercation on King St.   The 26 year old male had been out celebrating with his coworkers for a staff Christmas party. After the night of festivities he exited the establishment and challenged his coworkers. Police had to break up the disturbance and the male was arrested.   He was later released from police custody.
