Unwanted Person

A 39 year old male is facing several criminal code charges as the result of two separate incidents on the 17th of December 2018.

At 7:10 am police were called to a King St. residence in response to a complaint of an unwanted guest. Police arrived on scene and arrested the male for damaging property in the residence along with breaching a condition of his probation. He was released from police custody with a future court date.

The male immediately returned to the residence and threatened the home owner. He was arrested again and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

December 14 – 17, 2018 Incidents

Warrants

On the 14th of November, 2018, at 14:45 hours, the accused parties a 22 year old male and a 23 year old female were at the Walmart located at 1942 Parkedale Avenue in the City of Brockville.

At approximately 15:45 hours, the accused parties attempted to leave the store with a cart full of groceries. It was at that time they were asked for the receipt of payment, when they produced a receipt from the day earlier, with only three items on it. When confronted with this by store staff, they explained that the other receipt was in the car and that they would attend to the car to get it. Police were notified and they were charged with theft.

After being placed in the rear of the police vehicle, the male accused, lay on his back on the seat and proceeded to kick the top of the rear driver’s side door with both feet, springing the door from the vehicle, causing damage.

On the 7th of December 2018 both accused were to appear in court and failed to do so.

On the 14th of December 2018, both surrendered to police for their outstanding warrants. They were arrested without incident.

 

Public Intoxication

On Friday evening a 39 year old female was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. The female had been at a north end establishment and was located by police on the street, not able to care for herself. She was arrested and held in custody for her own safety.

 

Break and Enter

Police were called to an apartment on Kensington Parkway on Saturday December 15, 2018 at 3:49 pm. The complainant had contacted police to report that an unknown female had entered the apartment and taken some items.

Officers later dealt with a 23 year old female in an unrelated matter. The female had identified herself with another person’s identity to avoid arrest as she had a warrant out of Newfoundland. She was arrested for identity fraud. Officers then developed grounds to arrest the female for the break and enter on Kensington Parkway. She was later released from custody with a future court date.

 

Drugs

On Sunday at 1:00 am a 50 year old female was located and arrested by police as she had a warrant for her arrest for failing to attend court. A search incident to arrest led to the discovery of a quantity of drugs. She was arrested and released with a future court date.

 

Christmas Party Troubles

Officers had to intervene early Sunday morning after one individual attempted to engage his fellow employees in an altercation on King St.   The 26 year old male had been out celebrating with his coworkers for a staff Christmas party. After the night of festivities he exited the establishment and challenged his coworkers. Police had to break up the disturbance and the male was arrested.   He was later released from police custody.

December 13, 2018 Incidents

Warrants

On the 13th of December 2018 at 5:30 am, a 51 year old male was arrested by member of the Brockville Police Service for his outstanding warrant. The accused had a warrant issued for his arrest by his probation officer when he failed to comply with his conditions.

December 12, 2018 Incidents

Fraud

On October 4th 2018 the Brockville Police Service received a call of a theft of a wallet from a vehicle on Kyle Court. It was later learned that the victim’s credit card was used at a local convenience store. A copy of the CCTV footage was obtained which led to the identity of the suspect.

On the 12th of December the female has now been charged with possession of property obtained by crime and using a credit card obtained by commission of an offence.

 

Assault

A 23 year old female was arrested Wednesday evening after police were called to a domestic in the city’s north end. The 23 year old female had allegedly assaulted her common law spouse after an argument. She was later released from police custody with a future court date.

 

Warrant

While on routine patrol Wednesday night an officer observed a cyclist riding after dark without a light. The officer stopped the cyclist and realized that the male had a warrant for his arrest for breach of probation. He was arrested without incident and provided release documents with a future court date.

 

 

December 9, 2018 Incident

Assault/breach of conditions

On the 9th of December 2018 at 3:00 pm a 29 year old female was arrested and charged with five counts of breach of probation, 3 counts of failing to comply with an officer in charge undertaking, weapons dangerous, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of crystal methamphetamine.

Police had received several calls on Sunday in relation to this female. She was eventually located at the Quickie Convenience store on William St. after the clerk called police to have her removed. The female had been threatening people in the area with a large stick. She continued this behaviour when police arrived. She was taken into custody without incident. A search incident to arrest led to the discovery of a quantity of drugs.

The female was then linked to a theft from a Tim Horton’s restaurant at 6:30 am that day. She had been released from our custody 30 minutes prior to the theft as she had been arrested on a warrant for failing to attend court.

She was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

December 7 – 9, 2018 Incidents

Wanted Person

On the 7th of December, 2018 a 30 year old male was located in the north end. Officers had information that he was involved in a theft from November 16th and December 4th from a North end store. He was released with a future court date.

 

Liquor Offence

On the 8th of December, 2018 at approximetely 6 am police on general patrol observed a vehicle parked outside a local establishment with it’s lights activated and vehicle running. Upon approach of the 30 year old male driver it was determined that he was sleeping and was awoken to speak with police. An alcoholic beverage was smelt and a roadside test was conducted. He was arrested for failing the roadside and brough to the station. Due to the readings being in the warn range he was released with a 7 day licence suspension as this is his second offence.

 

Warrant

On the 8th of December, 2018 while on general patrol police observed an occupant of a motor vehicle that was currently wanted in relation to an investigation he was working on. As a result the vehicle was stopped and the 35 year old male accused was arrested for theft and breach of probation. Since being arrested it was determined that he was involoved in 2 other theft invesigations and was subsequently charged with those offences as well. He was held in custody pending bail court and was subsequently released with a future court date.

 

Weapons Offence

On the 9th of December, 2018 at approximately 130 in the morning police attended a local establishment where information was that a male was brandishing what appeared to be a firearm to other patrons. Police attended and located the 25 year old male where he was arrested for possession of weapons dangerous. He was brough to cells and released with a future court date. The male was not threatening anybody with gun, only showing it off. The gun was in fact an air soft weapon that resembled a hand gun.

 

Warrant

On the 9th of December, 2018 at approximetly 5 am police while on general patrol located a 29 year old female that was wanted for failing to attend for court. She was arrested and released with a future court date.

December 7, 2018 Incidents

Warrants

At approximately 1:00am on the 7th of December, 2018 the Brockville Police Service located a 34 year old, local male, who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for fail to attend court. He was arrested and held for bail.

 

Missing Person

The Brockville Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating missing person Taylor James TODD.

Taylor is 31 years old and is described as 6 feet tall and about 250 lbs. He was last seen in the area of Halleck’s road on November 10, 2018 and may be in the Kingston or Brockville area.

Family and the police are concerned for his wellbeing. He may also use the name Taylor DARKE.

Motorcycle Gang Members Arrested

Motorcycle Gang Members Arrested

On the 6th of December 2018 the Brockville Police, with the assistance of Ontario Provincial Police – Biker Enforcement Unit, the Belleville Police Service and Kingston Police Service, conducted a search warrant at two Brockville residences. 283 Park Street and Apartment 17 at 16 Cartier Court were raided by the Joint Forces Team in relation to the Outlaws Motorcycle Club and Outlaws support club, the Dead Eyes Motor Cycle Club.

Three local men were taken into custody on a number of criminal code charges including kidnapping, robbery, assault with a weapon, assault, and two separate offences relating to organized crime groups.

Taken into custody were member of the biker groups; Thomas Bell, Norman Cranshaw Rosbottom and his son, Norman Stanley Rosbottom. All three men were charged jointly with the above offences that began in March of 2018.

During the search warrants at the residences, items seized included:

  • Dead Eyes Outlaw Motorcycle Gang vests, clothing and related paraphernalia
  • documents supporting involvement in a criminal organization
  • Small quantity of cocaine
  • Cellular telephones
  • Clothing worn during commission of offences
  • 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix

This investigation is ongoing with potentially more arrests and charges forthcoming.

The Brockville Police and OPP BEU would like to remind citizens of Ontario that they can contribute to their safety and the safety of their communities by choosing not to support organized criminal activity, including seeningly harmless activities like purchasing support gear or participating in charitable activities organized by these groups.

The presence of Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs (OMGs) in any community should be a concern. Citizens should minimize contact with gang members and report any OMG activity to police in their jurisdiction.

By gaining an understanding of these activities, individuals are empowered to make informed choices that can not only increase their personal safety, but help deny illicit proceeds to criminals.

November 30 – December 3, 2018 Incidents

Unwanted Guest Arrested

A 25 year-old Brockville man was arrested late Friday morning on an outstanding warrant for Breach of Probation. Police were called to an apartment complex in the city’s north end to assist the superintendent in removing squatters. One of the unwanted guests was found to be wanted by police and as a result, was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant. He will appear in Brockville court at a later date.

 

Suspicious Women Arrested

Two women were arrested late Friday evening on outstanding warrants. Police were called to a north end retailer after staff believed the women were acting suspiciously. Investigation revealed that both women were currently wanted by the Brockville Police Service for outstanding charges. The 36 year-old and 26 year-old women, both of Brockville, once taken into custody were found to be in possession of illicit drugs for which they were further charged. The 36 year-old woman was released with a future court date while the 26 year-old was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

Dispute Leads to Arrest

A 40 year-old Cornwall man was arrested for assault late Saturday evening. Police attended to a hotel in the city’s north end after receiving a 911 call regarding a disturbance. Investigators learned that the intoxicated man had assaulted another person during the course of an argument. He was subsequently arrested and will appear in court later this month.

 

Mischief Charges for Broken Window

A broken window led to the arrest of a 42 year-old Brockville man early Monday morning. Just before 8:00am police were called to an address in the city’s south end regarding a disturbance in progress. On police arrival, the man had left the area, but was located a short time later and taken into custody. He will appear in Brockville court at a later date.

 

November 28 – 29, 2018 Incident

Theft

At 11:00 am on the 28th of November 2018, the Brockville Police Service were contacted about two suspects that were observed stealing cosmetics from the Real Canadian Superstore. Both subjects had left the store when police were contacted. A 31 year old female was arrested in the parking lot of the store. She was charged with theft, possession of property obtained by crime and breach of probation. She was released with a future court date.

The second party, a 31 year old male, was identified through CCTV footage and arrested on November 29th. He has been charged with theft under $5000.
