Motor Vehicle Collision

Brockville Police investigated a collision earlier today involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian.
At approx. 10:30 on September 18th, a south bound vehicle left its lane of traffic and struck a pedestrian who was walking north bound on the sidewalk.

The 20 year old pedestrian was taken to Brockville General Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The 31 year old driver of the motor vehicle was charged with Careless Driving.

Assault, Threats and Breach of Recognizance

On September 16th, Brockville Police responded to Thousand Islands Secondary School in regards to an assault complaint.

As a result of the investigation, charges of Assault X 2, Uttering Threats and Breach of Recognizance were laid.

Police are currently attempting to locate the local 16 year old male.

Municipal Election Signs

Now that the municipal election season is in high gear in Ontario, the Brockville Police would like to remind all voters, candidates, campaign teams and their supporters of the rules regarding Municipal Election Campaign signs within City Limits.

1) Private Property:

Shoplifting

On September 15th, Brockville Police responded to a shoplifting complaint at Walmart on Parkedale Avenue.

A 17 year old, local youth was arrested and charged with Theft Under $5000.00 X 2 and Breaching his Officer In Charge Undertaking.

The youth was awaiting court on outstanding charges stemming from charges laid earlier in summer. He was released from custody and given a future court date.

Assault

On September 15th, Brockville Police responded to a north end apartment complex in regards to an assault complaint.

A 29 year old local female was arrested and charged with Assault on her partner.

There were no injuries sustained. She was later released on conditions and given a future court date.

Breaching Court Order

On September 11th, Brockville Police took complaint from female party in regards to unwanted contact.

A 27 year old local male is currently incarcerated and was contacting the female by way of mail. One of the conditions of his sentence was to have no contact with the complainant. He was subsequently charged with breaching the court order.

Impersonation

On August 22nd, 2014 police stopped a male driver of a motor vehicle and issued him a ticket for a traffic offence. On September 11th, police discovered that the driver had passed himself off as another male known to him.

As a result of the investigation, a local 37 year old male has been charged with Impersonation, driving while under suspension and other traffic offences. He was released from custody and issued a future court date.

Disturbance

In the evening on September 11th, Brockville Police responded to a disturbance between two males at a north end apartment complex.

The investigation resulted in a local 22 year old male being charged with Uttering Threats. The second male, 19 years of age, was charged with Weapons Dangerous, Uttering Threats and Breaching conditions of an Undertaking which he was released on for unconnected criminal charges.

Both parties were released with future court dates. No injuries were sustained.

Brockville Police are looking for the owner of a blue Pelican Kayak. It was discovered floating in the area of the Brockville Yacht Club.

Breach of Probation

In the evening on September 10th, Brockville Police performed a traffic stop on Stewart Blvd.

A 21 year old female passenger was found to be breaching release conditions by being in the company of the driver. She was arrested and charged with breaching an undertaking and held for a bail hearing.
