Stolen Motorcycle

Police are seeking information in regards to a stolen motorcycle that was reported stolen on the 17th of August. A 2016 KTM Duke 390, licence plate 0H9K3, was taken from an address on Laurier Blvd. Please contact police if observed.

August 18 – 19, 2018 Incidents

Theft

A 31 year-old Brockville man was arrested early Friday morning for theft under $5000. Witnesses observed the male taking a bicycle from the yard of a South-end residence just after 9am. A short time later, the man was located by police, riding the stolen bicycle. He was taken into custody for the theft and later released with a future Court date.

Warrants

A traffic stop in the East end of the City led to the arrest of two males early Friday afternoon. After conducting the traffic stop, Police learned two of the men were wanted by the Brockville Police Service on outstanding warrants for various offences. The 23 and 24 year old males, both of Brockville, were taken into custody without incident. Both were later released with a future court date.

Shoplift

A 50 year old Brockville woman was arrested late Friday afternoon for shoplifting from a South end business. Police were called to the area shortly before 5pm after the woman was arrested by a store employee for shoplifting, but refused to cooperate with store staff. Officers took custody of the female and further found her to be in violation of the conditions of her Probation. She was charged with Theft Under $5000 and Breach of Probation and released from custody with a future court date.

Disturbance 

A 27 year old Brockville woman was arrested early Saturday evening for Being Intoxicated in a Public Place. Police were called to a business located in the center of the City after a report of disturbance between the female and another party. Police located the female, intoxicated by alcohol to the point where they were concerned for her safety. She was subsequently arrested for Public Intoxication and later released from custody once sober.

August 15 – 17, 2018 Incidents

Theft

On Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at 3:21 p.m. the Brockville Police Service received a call regarding a prowler in the area of Park St. The complainant told police that a male looked like he had stolen a package and was walking through backyards.

It was discovered that the male had taken a parcel that was delivered to an address on Park St. He was then observed in the back yard of the complainant removing the items from the package.

The suspect was located a short distance away and arrested by officers. The male was linked to other incidents of theft in the area. A 26 year old male is now facing charges of theft and breach of probation.

August 14 – 15, 2018 Incidents

Domestic

On the 14th of August shortly before 10:00 am, the Brockville Police Service responded to a complaint of a domestic dispute at a downtown location. As a result of this occurrence a 47 year old male was arrested and charged with assault.

 

Public Intoxication

On the 14th of August at 11:45 pm, a 22 year old female was brought into police custody after she was discovered in a heavily intoxicated state on Water St. She was held until sober and released without charge.

August 13 – 14, 2018 Incident

 

 

 

Warrants

A 36 year old female was arrested for her outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. She was located at 12:30 am on August 14th by police at a downtown location.

She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

Wanted Person

On August 13th at 11:40 police were called to Shopper’s Drug Mart on King St. in response to a male shoplifting. Officers arrived to have the suspect flee the area and allegedly stealing a bicycle in the process. The male was identified as Cory Sabourin, 40 years old.

This male is currently wanted by our service for several outstanding warrants. His charges include break and enter, mischief to property, uttering a threat and theft under $5000.

August 11 – 13, 2018 Incidents

Fraud

On Wednesday August 8th, an unknown suspect contacted an elderly female claiming to be a representative from a local bank. The suspect request that the she withdraw a large sum of money and to meet them as there was a problem with their account. The suspect then took the money from the victim claiming that he would deposit the funds.

Please be vigilant as these fraudsters tend to target the elderly. If you are contacted by anyone requesting money it is likely a scam.   Please contact your financial institution directly or contact our service to report any suspicious activity.

 

Disturbance

On the 11th of August at 11:21 pm, the Brockville Police Service responded to several 911 calls for a disturbance at St. Lawrence Park.   Several parties were involved in an altercation that broke up as officers arrived on scene. The investigation is continuing.

 

Missing Person Located

August 11, 2018 Incidents

Stolen Property

The driver of a local cab reported that the two persons who had just been dropped off had stolen their personal bag containing cash, identification and miscellaneous items. The driver provided an excellent description of the man and woman and both were quickly located and arrested for the theft. All property was recoverd and a 36 year old man and 42 year old woman were both charged with possession of stolen property. The man was on probation and was subsequently charged with breaching the conditions of his release. The woman was in possession of methamphetamine and was charged with the additional charge of possession of a controlled substance. The man was wanted on an outstanding warrant and was held for bail. The woman was released with a future court date.

 

Break in tools and Breaching release conditions

On the 11th of August, 2018 at approximatley 04:30 a.m. Cst. Mike Noonan was on general patrol in the North end of the City when he did observe a suspicious man riding a bike. The man was wearing all black clothing and would not stop to speak to police. The man ditched the bicycle and fled on foot only to be located by police. The 26 year old Brockville man was found to be outside his residence while bound by a curfew as set by the courts. He was arrested and also discovered to be in possession of break in tools. Charged with breaching his release conditions and possession of break in tools, he was remanded into custody and will appear on Monday the 13th of August, 2018 for a scheduled bail hearing.

August 8 – 9, 2018 Incidents

Warrant

On the 8th of August, 2018 at approximately 4:00p.m., the Brockville Police Service located a 40 year old, local male, who was wanted on an outstanding probation warrant for a breach of his conditions. The warrant executed as he was arrested and released with a future court date.

 

Impaired Driving

On the 8th of August, 2018 at approximately 10:10p.m., the Brockville Police Service responded to a report of a fail to remain motor vehicle collision in the South area of the City. Investigation lead to the driver and vehicle being identified. The driver was a 22 year old, local male. He was also located operating a vehicle shortly after in the area of the collision scene. He was arrested and taken to the Brockville Police Station where he provided breath samples registering almost four times the legal limit. He was later released with a court date for the offences of drive over 80 and impaired operation of a motor vehicle. Further, he was also issued a provincial court date for failing to remain at an accident.

 

Missing Persons

Over the past several days the Brockville Police Service has been in search of multiple missing individuals. Many were resolved somewhat qucikly. On the 9th of August, 2018 officers spoke to two of the missing individuals. The first being the 43 year old male and the second a 13 year old male. Both have been interviewed and are safe. The Brockville Police Service would like to thank all those who have assisted in anyway.

August 7 – 8, 2018 Incidents

Domestic Disturbance

On the 7th of August, 2018 at approximately 10:00p.m., the Brockville Police Service responded to a domestic related complaint in the Center area of the City. Investigation revealed that a 40 year old, local male, had threatened his partner to cause harm if they called police during a dispute. He was found to also be on a probation order. The accused was arrested and charged for uttering threats and breach probation. He was later released with a future court date.

 

Drug Related

On the 7th of August, 2018 at approximately 11:15p.m., the Brockville Police Service responded to a possible intoxicated male in the area of Hardy Park. There officers located the male in question who is a 28 year old male out of Kingston, however, known to frequent Brockville. The male was found to currently be on a Recognizance of bail and also in possession of a small container of crystal meth. He was arrested, charged and held for a bail hearing for possession of a controlled substance and breaching his Recognizance.

August 6 – 7, 2018 Incidents

The Brockville Police Service responded to 80 calls for service over the past 48 hours. Some of the highlights include;

  • Police responded to four calls related to mental health where the parties were apprehended and escorted to the Brockville General Hospital due to concerns for their safety. The involved parties ranged in age from 18 to 50 years old.
  • A family dispute on August 5, 2018 led to a youth being assaulted with a hockey stick. Minor injuries were suffered due to the incident. A 52 year old male was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and Breach of Recognizance.
  • A 26 year old male is currently wanted by the Brockville Police Service after attacking his brother with a decorative hand saw. The brother suffered a minor cut that did not require medical attention.
