July 18 – 19, 2018 Incidents

Warrant

On July 18th at 11:00 am, a 40 year old male surrendered to police for his warrant of arrest for beaching his probation order. The warrant was obtained by his probation officer for various breaches. He was released with a future court date.

 

Bail Violations

A 31 year old male drew the attention of police last night at 10:50 pm. He was located near the intersection of King St. West and Perth St. in an intoxicated state. He was consuming alcohol in public and then broke a bottle on the street. Officers arrested the male as he was on bail conditions for an assault charge with conditions not to consume alcohol. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

July 17 – 18, 2018 Incidents

Assault

On July 17, 2018 a female complainant attended the Brockville Police Service to report a domestic occurrence that had happened earlier in the day. She reported that her husband had pushed to the ground striking her head. She had been transported to the hospital by ambulance. She later attended the service to report the incident. A 38 year old male has been charged with assault and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

July 16 – 17, 2018 Incidents

Threats/Assault

On July 5th, 2018 police responded to a domestic dispute where a female reported she had been assaulted and threatened by her common law spouse. The 39 year old suspect had fled the scene the night of the incident. Officers obtained a warrant for his arrest.

On July 16th, the male surrendered to police for this outstanding warrant. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

Threats

On the 13th of July a complainant attended the Brockville Police Service to report that she had been threatened by her spouse. The complaint was investigated and officers obtained a warrant of arrest for a 21 year old male.

On the 16th of July at 5:45 pm, officers located the male walking in the city. He was arrested without incident. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing for the charges of threatening to cause bodily harm, administering a noxious substance and breach of probation.

 

Suspicious Person

At 4:00 am on July 17th a complainant contacted police to report a suspicious person in his back yard. When confronted the male advised he was looking for his stolen bike. The complainant photographed the male.

The suspect, Kevin Dunn 39 years, was identified by officers. He is currently wanted on charges stemming from another investigation; please contact our service at 613-342-0127 with any information.

July 13 – 16, 2018 Incidents

Warrants

On Friday July 13th, police arrested a 31 year old male for failing to attend court. The male had attended the police service for an unknown reason. The male had been scheduled to appear for a court appearance on the 13th of July, had failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. An officer that had been in court for another matter recognized the male standing in the station’s parking lot and arrested him on the strength of the warrant.   He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

Bail Violations

A 27 year old male called police on July 13th at 9:50 pm to stand by while his ex-spouse collected her belongings. Officers attended and detected an odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath contrary to his bail conditions. The male has been charged with failing to comply with his undertaking and provided with a future court date. 

 

Bail Violations/drugs

On July 14th at 10:16 pm, officers responded to reports of an intoxicated male walking on Parkedale Ave at Windsor Dr. Officers located a 22 year old male who was on conditions from a previous offence, not to consume alcohol. The male was arrested, searched, which led to the discovery of a quantity of drugs. He was charged with failing to comply with an officer in charge undertaking and possession of a controlled substance.

 

Motor Vehicle Collision

On July 15th at 12:30 am, the Brockville Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision on Laurier Blvd. The vehicle, a grey Kia Optima, had veered off of the road for approximately 50 meters and collided with a tree. Through the officer’s investigation it was discovered that the female driver had picked up her 32 year old boyfriend from a downtown location. They engaged in an argument during the drive home which escalated into an assault on the female. The male then grabbed the steering wheel causing the vehicle to leave the road way and collide with a tree.

The male has been charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm and assault. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

July 12 – 13, 2018 Incidents

Fraud/warrants

On July 12th at 12:21 pm, a 24 year old male was arrested for fraud and his outstanding warrant. The male was attempting to cash a fraudulent cheque at a bank on Parkedale Ave. The staff alerted police who attended the bank. The male is well known to police and they were aware that he had a warrant for his arrest. The male was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

RIDE

Officers conducted a RIDE program on July 12th beginning at 5:00 pm. The first vehicle they observed was being operated by Andrew Beauregard, 41 years. The male was known to both officers working the RIDE program. The male being on a criminal code driving prohibition, attempts to flee the area and leaves the vehicle abandoned. He is quickly located by one of the officers at the rear of one of the residences. He is arrested and searched leading to the discovery of a quantity of drugs. His borrowed vehicle was impounded for 45 days and he has been held in custody for a bail hearing.

July 9 – 10, 2018 Incidents

Robbery:

On July 9, 2018 at 4:30 pm, a 19 year old male was assaulted by two males in the area of King St. West at St. Paul St. The two suspects fled the area with the victim’s book bag. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries. Suspect descriptions were not provided as the victim was not forthcoming with information. We are asking witnesses to contact Cst. Vehicles being entered:

We have had several complaints of vehicles being entered and property removed. Most of these thefts are preventable as the vehicles have been left unlocked.

July 6 – 8, 2018 Incidents

Fighting by-law:

On the 8th of July 2018 at 7:20 pm, two 17 year old males agreed to meet and fight over an “Instagram” dispute. One male had apparently “liked” a photo of the other’s girlfriend. The two youths met and engaged in an altercation where police were called. Both males were charged under the city’s bylaw for fighting.

Theft:

On the 8th of July 2018 at 7:40 pm, a 19 year old male selected $30 worth of chocolate bars from the Metro on King St. He then left the store making no attempt to pay. He was located a short distance away and arrested for the offence of theft. He was further charged with breach of a probation order.

Warrants:

A 22 year old wanted on a warrant for failing to attend court was arrested on the 7th of July. Police were called to investigate a traffic collision and discovered the male was the passenger of the vehicle. He was arrested without incident.

Stunt Driving:

On July 7th at 10:22 pm, officers were conducting a traffic enforcement program when a 17 year old male attempted to evade police by fleeing the area in his vehicle at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was discovered a short distance away and the identity of the driver was discovered. The driver has been charged with stunt driving and had his vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Warrants:

A 34 year old female, a 48 year old male and another 34 year old female were arrested Friday July 6th in three separate incidents for their outstanding warrants.

July 5, 2018 Incidents

Theft/Warrants/Drugs:

On Wednesday July 4th the Brockville Police Service was contacted in regards to a theft of an e-bike valued at $600 from a downtown address. There were no suspects at the time of the theft.

On July 5, 2018 at 19:00 hours the complainant from the theft found his e-bike at the Tim Hortons on Brock St. He contacted police who attended and seized the bike. The suspect at this time approached police indicating that the bike was his and had been given to him. Unfortunately for the suspect he was wanted on outstanding warrants for failing to attend court. He was arrested on the strength of the warrant and searched.   The searched incident to arrest led to a further charge of being in possession of a controlled substance (psilocybin).

The investigation into the theft of the e-bike led to another charge of possession of stolen property. Along with these charges he was also on a recognizance of bail and was found to be in violation of certain conditions.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

July 4 – 5, 2018 Incidents

Bail Violations

On July 4th at 1:00 pm, the Brockville Police Service responded to a call for an unwanted person. The complainant had called to have a male removed from the residence. The 31 year old male had left the area prior to police arrival. He was on court ordered conditions not be at that address. He is now facing charges of failing to comply with his court order.

 

Bail Violations

On July 4th at 2:50 pm, a taxi cab operator contacted police to report a transportation fraud. The 21 year old female passenger left the cab, failing to pay the $9.00 fare. She is now facing charges of fraud and breach of a recognizance.

 

July 3 – 4, 2018 Incidents

Bail Violations

A 16 year old male is facing charges of violating his bail conditions by not abiding by a curfew and communication breaches. On today’s date, he was arrested without incident by court staff and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

Bail Violations

On July 3rd, 2018 at 8:00 pm a 55 year old male was arrested for breaching his bail conditions by consuming alcohol.   Police were responding to a complaint of an intoxicated male. This male was located and police learned that he was on court ordered conditions not to consume alcohol. He was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
