Theft

Property recovered after man arrested for theft. A 53 year old Brocvkille man was arrested and charged for theft of merchandise from a north end retail store. The man was cooperative when police located him after he had left the area and did return the stolen property. Police issued the culprit a future court date for the offence of theft under 5000 dollars contrary to the Criminal Code.

 

Liquor Licence Act

Man arrested after he calls police. A local 48 year old man was arrested to prevent any further breach of the peace following his call to advise police that everything was ok in his residence. Police attended the south end location and noted the man was intoxicated and if left in the residence could possibly result in further problems. The man had no other places to go for the night and was lodeged in cells to prevent any further breach of the peace. The man was released in the morning, unconditionally when sober.

 

Domestic Dispute

28 year old Brockville man arrested and held in custody for domestic assault and Mischief. On the 17th of December, 2016 at approximately 2 a.m. police repsonded to a south end residence for reports of a man and woman yelling and the sound of things being smashed. After the incident was investigated and all spoken to the man was arrested for assault and mischief. The man was held in custody and will appear in court on Monday the 19th of December, 2016. There were no serious injuries noted in this matter with no medical treatment required. Mischief reported was limited to throwing and breaking the victim’s IPAD rendering it useless.

 

Liquor Licence Act

Man arrested crawling down the street. A local 52 year old man was observed by police crawling on his hands and knees in the snow on John Street at approximatley 3 a.m. The man was intoxicated and not capable of properly caring for himself at that time. The man was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and to ensure his safety he was lodged in cells at the police station. The man was released, when sober, in the morning.
