Fraud Charges for False Invoices
A 23 year old Personal Support worker is facing fraud related charges for submitting fraudulent invoices for time worked and forging signatures to her employer.
Yesterday morning just after 10:30 a.m. the woman’s employer attended to the Brockville Police Service to report the fraudulent and forged invoices to police. Investigators received the supporting documents and spoke with the young woman who was served an Appearance notice charging her with 2 counts of Fraud and one count of Uttering a forged Document.
She will be appearing in court in the new year to answer to these charges.
Mischief Charges for incident in Courthouse Cells
A 25 year old man is facing charges after an incident at the Court House cells yesterday afternoon.
Just after 1:00 p.m. Special Constables at the court building asked the young man who was waiting to speak with his counsel if he needed to use the washroom which he declined. After dealing with other prisoners, the Special Constables returned 3 minutes later and noticed writing on the wall of his cell in feces and when asked about it, he told the officers he thought it was funny.
The man was removed from the cells and placed in another area. The damaged cell was cleaned, repaired and disinfected and he is now facing an additional charge of Mischief Under $5000.
Bail Violation charge for refusing drug test
A 28 year old Brockville woman is facing charges of breaching her undertaking.
The young woman was released earlier this month from the special drug court with conditions of her undertaking to report to her counsellor and submit to drug testing as required.
On the 19th of December the woman failed to show for a scheduled meeting and again yesterday refused to submit to a drug test as required and was reported to the police as per her release conditions.
Late yesterday afternoon, the woman was located on Front Avenue in Brockville and placed under arrest for Breach of Undertaking and held in custody for a bail hearing later today.
