Robbery / Possession of stolen property / Impaired

On December 25, 2021 at about 3:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received a report of a possible impaired driver in the area of Parkedale Ave. and Stewart Blvd. The suspect vehicle was located in the area of Jefferson Dr. When officers spoke to the driver it was evident the male driver was under the influence of a substance. The male was identified to be 37-year-old male named, Brendan Goode, who is not a resident of Brockville. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by drugs and the vehicle he was operating was stolen out of the Toronto area. He also attempted to lie about his identity and was in possession of a quantity of crystal meth and fentanyl. He was arrested and later released on an undertaking with a court date for the offences of impaired driving (drugs), possession of property obtained by crime, possession a forged document, possession of crystal meth and fentanyl, obstruct a peace officer and fail to comply with probation.  

Further;

On December 26, 2021 at about 1:15PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a vehicle that had been stolen after the owner was assaulted. The incident took place in the area of Perth St. and the suspect is the above mentioned male, Brendan Goode. The victim’s vehicle was running in the driveway when Goode approached and entered the driver seat. The owner then attempted to intervene on the theft and engage in a conversation. Goode began backing away out of the driveway of the residence and the owner jumped into the passenger seat. Goode drove away from the residence just a short distance and in that time a physical altercation took place in the vehicle. The owner was assaulted and thrown from the vehicle where he sustained injuries and was taken to hospital. Injuries are described as non-life-threatening. There were multiple witnesses to the incident. There has been a warrant issued for the suspects arrest for the offences of robbery, fail to comply with  probation, dangerous operation of motor vehicle, failure to stop after an accident, fail to comply with undertaking and operating a motor vehicle while prohibited.  The vehicle in question was recovered in Quebec.

 

Stolen Vehicle

On December 26, 2021 at about 3:15PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a stolen vehicle from Windsor Dr. The vehicle was last seen the previous night and was taken without the owner’s knowledge or consent. The suspect was not known at the time. Later that same day the vehicle was located in the area of Sudbury, ON by the OPP. The suspect was also located nearby and arrested in relation to this incident. He is a 51-year-old male who frequents Brockville. The suspect is being brought before the courts.

 

Assault

On December 27, 2021 at about 11:45AM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of an assault at a residence on Victoria Ave. Information was received from a third party that it sounded like an a fight was taking place and someone was being assaulted. Police arrived on scene and spoke to the victim / resident of the address. Investigation revealed that a 44-year-old female was visiting a male at his residence when an argument ensued. During the argument, the female attacked and assaulted the male. She was arrested, charged and released on an undertaking for the offences of assault and fail to comply with probation. The injuries are non-life-threatening.

 

Assault

On December 29, 2021 at about 4:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of an assault. Officers spoke to the male victim of the incident who advised that he had been in an altercation with his son. Investigation revealed that the father and son had engaged in a verbal altercation that turned physical in the area of North Augusta Rd. The nature of the incident and non-life-threatening injuries indicate that an assault had taken place. The 36-year-old suspect, the victim’s son, was arrested, charged and released on an undertaking with conditions abstain from communication with the victim. Later that night, the victim received multiple forms of communication from the suspect including threats. Officers were investigating the new complaint and had grounds to arrest and charge the suspect for these new offences. However, on December 30, 2021 at about 1:00AM, the 36-year-old male attended to the Brockville Police Service and was upset. Officers spoke to the male and arrested him for the threats and failing to comply with the non-communication condition of his undertaking. During that arrest, an odour of alcohol was coming from the male and it was noticed that the male had driven to the police station. After learning this information, the demand for a roadside breath sample was given and he failed as a result. Further breath samples revealed that the male was driving with over two and a half times the legal limit of alcohol in his blood. The male was held for a bail hearing. Total charges now before the courts for this subject are assault, fail to comply with undertaking, utter threats, impaired driving and driving over 80mg.          

 

Theft

On December 29, 2021 at about 5:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of someone breaking into a mailbox and stealing in the area of Glenn Wood Pl. Officers attended and investigation revealed that a 55-year-old man had tampered with a mailbox and stole mail. He was located within the area and was arrested for theft of mail. He was released with a future court date.

 

Warrants

On December 29, 2021 at about 9:30PM, officers from the Brockville Police Service were on patrol in the area of Perth St. While there, the officers observed a 52-year-old male who had an outstanding bench warrant for failing to attend court. The male was arrested and searched. During the search, the male was found to be in possession of small amounts of fentanyl and crystal meth. He was held in custody for a bail hearing on the non-endorsed bench warrant and the additional two charges of possession of fentanyl and crystal meth.
