The Brockville Police have arrested and charged 31 year old Chris Farrell of Brockville after locating a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl. The accused was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Kingston, from earlier this year. The investigation led to the seizure of crystal meth and purple fentanyl indicative of dealing the deadly substances. The total street value of the drugs is estimated at nearly $30,000.
In addition to the drugs, an explosive device was seized. The Ontario Provincial Police East Region Tactics and Rescue Unit determined the device to have been operational. The explosive was rendered safe and will result in further charges for the accused, Farrell. Other items held by Farrell were a mechanical drug press, drug packaging materials and a large sum of Canadian currency all supporting the drug trafficking charges.
Farrell has an extensive criminal history. He was out on bail for previous violent offences and is on multiple probation orders along with two court orders prohibiting him from possessing any explosive devices.
As a result the accused is facing new charges:
1) 2 counts of failing comply with probation
2) Failing to comply with a court order
3) 3 counts of failing to comply with a prohibition order
4) 2 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
5) Weapons dangerous
