Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision- 1360 Kensington Parkway
At 9:26 a.m. yesterday morning the Brockville Police Service and Leeds and Grenville Emergency Medical Services responded to a call of a pedestrian being struck by a commercial snow plow in the parking lot of the apartment building located at 1360 Kensington Parkway.
When they arrived they found the pedestrian, 30 year old Tyler Burtch of Brockville, to be in very serious condition and rushed him to Brockville General Hospital where emergency staff attended to him and prepared him for transport to the Kingston General Hospital. He was rushed by ambulance to Kingston General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on arrival.
Officers with the Brockville Police Service patrol services, detective office, and forensic identification unit where at the scene until early evening yesterday and continue their investigation. They are being assisted by investigators with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Technical Traffic investigations unit and the Ministry of Transportation as is normal practice in serious motor vehicle collisions.
All involved have cooperated with investigators. Police are still seeking witnesses to the collision and would like to speak with anyone who was in the parking lot area of 1360 Kensington Parkway yesterday morning between 9: 15 – 9:45 a.m. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Graham Coe at 613-342-0127 ext. 4245.
