February 12 – 15, 2022 New Release

Assault:

On February 12, 2022 at about 4:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of an assault on Victoria Rd. Information was that a dispute between family members erupted and one of the members had been assaulted. Officers arrived and investigation revealed that a 65-year-old male had assaulted a younger female in the residence by striking her. The injuries are non-life-threatening. The male was arrested, charged with assault and held for a bail hearing.

 

Warrants:

On February 12, 2022 at about 12:00AM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of two males fighting in the parking lot of the Brockville General Hospital. Officers arrived and located the males. They were 38-year-old and 44-year-old males. Both were at the hospital for unrelated reasons. Investigation revealed that the 44-year-old male had a warrant for his arrest in relation to a charge of breach probation. The 44-year-old male was arrested and advice given to both. The arrested male was released with paperwork and future court date.

Further;

On February 11, 2022 at about 5:15PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a male at an apartment building on Victoria Ave., stealing mail. Officers arrived and located a 36-year-old male in the lobby area matching the description of the suspect given. Investigation revealed that this suspect was the one responsible for the theft. He was placed under arrest for three counts of theft of mail and two counts of breach probation. He was later released with paperwork and a future court date.

 

Further;

 

On February 13, 2022 at about 10:30AM, the Brockville Police Service received information from the OPP that they had arrested a male who was wanted on a warrant. The male was a 32-year-old male and the warrant was in relation to two counts of uttering threats and one count of breach probation. The male was turned over to the Brockville Police Service and eventually released with conditions and a future court date. 

 

Disturbing the Peace and Mischief:

On February 14, 2022 at about 9:00AM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a male who was irate and banging on store windows at the Kensington Plaza. As officers were on route to the scene, more information was provided that the male had actually started smashing multiple storefront windows. This caused significant damage to Island City Animal Hospital and a vacant unit beside it. He also gestured to attack someone by lunging at them with his fists raised. Officers quickly attended to the area and located the 36-year-old male. He was not co-operative with police however; officers were able to gain control of the him without anyone being seriously injured.  Once he was arrested, investigation revealed that he was currently on a release order with bail conditions.  He was held in custody for a bail hearing for the offences of assault, two counts of mischief under $5,000 and fail to comply with release order.
