Shoplifter arrested and warrant executed
A shoplifting complaint from the Real Canadian Superstore yesterday afternoon led to the arrest and execution of an arrest warrant of a 25 year old man for credit card offences from early December.
At 4:55 p.m. yesterday afternoon officers with the Brockville Police were called to the Superstore when Loss Prevention officers had apprehended the 25 year old man for taking grocery items from the store shelves and exiting through the main door making no attempt to pay for them.
When officers arrived they recognized the man and records confirmed he had an outstanding arrest warrant for unauthorized use of credit cards from December of last year.
As a result, he was taken into custody and conveyed to the Brockville Police Services and charged with theft under $5000 and several counts of using a stolen credit card. He was later released from custody with a future court date.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
While the Brockville Police Service investigated four motor vehicle collisions yesterday, none were related to the storm which passed through the area yesterday afternoon, overnight and into the morning.
Area motorists appeared to take the advice of weather forecasters and avoided unnecessary travel during the storm and those that did venture out allowed for extra time for the weather.
