Disturbance Leads to Trespass and Assault

On July 29, 2022 at about 4:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received information from the Via Rail staff that there was a male on the train causing issues and they were approaching 00PM, towards the Niagara Region. As the train pulled into Brockville, officers attended and spoke to staff. They identified the 56-year-old male to be the one causing problems on the train and were asking him to be removed for the comfort and safety of the other passengers as staff. The male refused to leave when directed. During the process of police removing the male under the Trespass to Property Act, the male was assaultive towards police and threatened both police and Via Rail employees. A physical altercation took place while removing the male from the train. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. The male was found to be carrying a concealed knife on him at the time of the incident. He was arrested and held for bail for the offences of two counts of uttering threats, assault peace officer, resist arrest and carrying a concealed weapon.   

 

Drugs

On July 30, 2022 at about 10:30PM, the Brockville Police Service located a 34-year-old female, sleeping behind the wheel of a vehicle parked at Pizza Pizza on Parkedale Ave. There were concerns that the female was impaired while occupying the vehicle. Testing was performed that determined she was not impaired, however, she was found to be in possession of crystal meth. She was arrested and charged with possession of crystal meth and released with a future court date.

Further;

On July 31, 2022 shortly after midnight, officers from the Brockville Police Service located a 52-year-old male in the area of Henry St. It was discovered that this male was in possession of cocaine. The male had lied about his identity multiple times to officers. Once officers did properly determine the identity, the male was charged with obstruct peace officer, possession of cocaine and issued a future court date.

 

Theft

On July 30, 2022 at about 5:30PM, officers from the Brockville Police Service located a male matching the description of a suspect involved in a theft that took place on July 21, 2022. The theft as described as a bicycle being stolen from out front of The Score on King St. W. Once officers identified the suspect, he attempted to evade police. Officers did eventually locate him and placed him under arrest. Further investigation confirmed the details of the previous theft and the suspects identity to be that of an 18-year-old male. The male was charged with theft under $5,000.00 and released with a future court date. 

 

Warrants

On July 30, 2022 at about 9:00PM, the Brockville Police Service learned of a 34-year-old male who was arrested by the OPP in the Morrisburg. He was arrested on a bench warrant issued out of Brockville for failing to attend court. He was transported to the Brockville Police Service where he was processed and released with a future court date. 

Further;

On August 2, 2022 at about 9:00AM, a 35-year-old male turned himself into the Brockville Police Service as he had knowledge of an outstanding arrest warrant. The warrant was for the offence of failing to comply with his undertaking conditions, as the male had contacted an individual he was to abstain from communicating with. He was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing.
