Domestic Disturbance leads to Assault Charges

A 29 year old Brockville man is facing assault charges, the result of a domestic disturbance at a north end apartment building late last evening.

At approximately 11:20 p.m. officers were called to an apartment complex in the city’s north end after alert neighbours heard yelling and witnessed a couple arguing out their window. On officers arrival the yelling was continuing and police were able to locate the apartment the disturbance was coming from. After speaking with all involved, the man was arrested at the scene for domestic assault without incident. He was conveyed to the Brockville Police Service and released on several conditions to protect the safety of the victim and released with a future court date.

The 23 year old female victim did not suffer any physical injuries as a result of the altercation.

 

Rash of Vandalism in the Downtown Core

Brockville Police are currently investigating a number of reports of vandalism in the downtown core of Brockville.

Businesses and City staff contacted the police after their buildings, fences and playground structures were spray painted over the past several days. They include:

  • Traffic Control Boxes (Front Ave and Stewart Blvd)
  • Mailbox (King St W/Beecher St)
  • Buildings
    • 5 Home Street (Medical Centre)
    • Brockville Arts Centre
    • 103 King St West (2-4-1 Pizza/Manpower Building)
    • 138 King St West (Shopper’s)
    • The new bathroom building at Hardy Park
  • Play Structure at Hardy Park
