Public Intoxication Arrests Downtown

Officers responded to two reports yesterday of suspicious males in the downtown corridor who were later located by police and found to be asleep and under the influence of alcohol.

Yesterday afternoon shortly after 4 p.m. Brockville Police received a call of a suspicious male lying on the sidewalk on Apple Street not far from the intersection with King St. When officers arrived they located a 59 year old Brockville man, who was obviously under the influence of alcohol and unable to care for himself. As a result he was arrested for Public Intoxication and held until he was sober and released with a Provincial Offences notice.

Once again at 6:30 p.m. officers were called to the downtown area after reports of a suspicious male at the south end of Broad St. When officers arrived they located a 44 year old Brockville area man lying near a flower bed under the influence of alcohol and also unable to care for himself. He too, was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication and held in custody until sober and released with a Provincial Offences notice.

 

Police seek witnesses in George Street Disturbance

Investigators are seeking witnesses to a disturbance on George Street during the early morning hours Friday.

At approximately 12:20 a.m. officers were called to an area of George Street between Buell St and John St involving 3 males in an altercation. When they arrived officers spoke with one of the males involved in the altercation but two others had fled the scene. One of the males, may have suffered an injury during the altercation
