Public Intoxication

On June 21st at 10:12 am, Brockville Police attended the parking lot of a south end apartment complex to check on a man’s well being.

The local 28 year old was found bleeding from the nose and very intoxicated.  Unknown how he sustained his minor injury but Officers were concerned about his ability to look after himself.  He was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and taken into custody until sobering up.

Later the same day, he was released with a fine.

 

Unlawfully At Large

On June 21st at 1:57 pm, Brockville Police were contacted by the Brockville Jail who reported a prisoner did not show up for his weekend sentence.

A local 26 year old man failed to show up last Friday to serve his weekend in custody.  Jail staff delayed reporting the incident to verify a possible viable reason for his absence.  A warrant will now be in effect for the man’s arrest.

 

Domestic Incident / Charges

On June 21st at 3:35 pm, Brockville Police began an investigation into a domestic assault allegation.

A local 18 year old female reported to family members that she was leaving her boyfriend and had been assaulted on several occassions during the relationship.  She had been struck in the face several times over the last few months, was not allowed to leave their apartment on different occassions and was once held down on a bed and choked till she could not breath.  The accused is a local 19 year old man. He was arrested and charged by Officers for the offences of assault, forcible confinement and choking.  He was held in custody and will appear in bail court.

 

Theft 

On June 21st at 7:01 pm, Brockville Police attended a department store in the center of the city for a shoplifting complaint.

A local 40 year old man stole items from the store with a low dollar value.  Instead of criminal charges, he was issued a fine under the Trespass to Property Act and will no longer be allowed on the premises.

 

Mental Health Incident

On June 21st at 9:48 pm, Brockville Police attended a family dispute at a south end residence.

After things had calmed down and Officers were attempting to leave, one of the residents approached officers and told Police he wanted to kill himself.  The local 48 year old was in possession of pills and Officers had to wrestle with him to get them out of his hands.

He was taken to hospital for appropriate attention.
