Breach of Bail Conditions

A 19 year old Lyn man was arrested yesterday for breaching his Bail Conditions after a complaint was received that he was communicating with his 11 year old victim.

Sunday morning at 8:20 the 11 year old victim’s mother contacted police to report the man had been contacting her daughter over her iPad contrary to his court ordered conditions. Further investigation revealed he had also spoken to the young girl on two other occasions in person also contrary to the conditions of release from custody.

The 19 year old man who is known to police was later located on Stewart Blvd and placed under arrest for breach of his conditions and held in custody pending a bail hearing today.

 

Public Intoxication at Poutine Fest

A suspicious person call to the Volleyball courts at Hardy Park during Poutine Fest led to the arrest of a 29 year old Brockville man for public intoxication early yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 12:20 pm yesterday afternoon Brockville Police received a call about the man who was on the picnic table but had since fallen to the ground. With assistance from the Leeds and Grenville EMS, officers attended to the area and located the young man and found him to be under the influence of alcohol.

As a result he was arrested for public intoxication and held in custody until sober when he was given a provincial offences notice ticket with a fine.

 

Off Duty officer assists in arrest of Shoplifters

A couple from Ottawa picked a bad time to shoplift at the Real Canadian Superstore on Sunday.

Loss prevention officers from the store contacted the Brockville Police approximately 5:20 yesterday afternoon when they observed a man and a woman take a bunch of groceries and leave the store without paying. As they approached the couple outside the store the man and woman took off south bound out of the parking lot. At the time, Constable Dave Jeggo who was off duty and at the store, observed this and took off after the couple and catches up with them at Wiltse’s Glass on the south side of Parkedale Ave.

The 27 year old man and his 22 year old girlfriend, both from Ottawa, were arrested for theft and taken into custody where they were released with several bail conditions and given a future court date.

 

Female in Custody for Breaching Conditions

A 37 year old woman is in custody awaiting a bail hearing this morning after police were called to a Brock Street residence.

At 7:15 pm Brockville Police were called to the residence of the woman’s estranged husband advising she was currently at the house and is on conditions not to be there. On police arrival the woman was located hiding in a downstairs basement closet and arrested for breaching her bail conditions from 2 other incidents.

She was taken into custody at the Brockville Police Service and conveyed to court to appear for a bail hearing later today.
