Well-Being check leads to Elder Abuse Investigation

A concerned neighbour contacted Brockville Police late yesterday afternoon after he heard arguing at his elderly neighbour’s residence when he went to check on her.

Brockville Police were called to the residence of a 95 year old woman at 5:20 pm yesterday afternoon. Responding officers learned there was a dispute among family members and friends in attendance over the woman’s health care and financial powers of attorney.

Leeds and Grenville EMS attended and transported the elderly woman to the Brockville General Hospital for some minor injuries to her leg and she was later released from hospital.

The disputed Power of Attorney matters remain under investigation by police.

 

Break and Enter to tool shed

The Brockville Police are investigating a break and enter overnight from a storage shed at the rear of a residence on Perth Street.

At 1:50 am Cst Mike Noonan was on patrol on Perth Street between Downey and Brock Street when he saw a man wearing a red hoodie and a backpack go in between two houses on the west side of the street and tools sitting on the front lawn of the residence.

The male suspect fled westbound through the back yards. Officers checked the area and discovered several other sheds had been tried in attempt to break in as well
