June 3 – 5, 2022 News Release

Break and Enter

On June 3, 2022 at about 6:15PM, the Brockville Police Service received a burglary alarm at the Second Time Around store on Parkedale Ave. Officers attended the area and located a 43-year-old male in the vicinity. Investigation revealed that he was responsible for the entry. He was placed under arrest for break and enter. Upon searching the male officers located a quantity of crystal meth. He was held for a bail hearing for the offences of break and enter, possession of crystal meth and fail to comply with probation.  

 

Domestic Dispute

On June 3, 2022 at about 11:00AM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint of a domestic dispute in the area of Daniel St. Officers attended and found that a male and female couple had been in a physical altercation. The couple were engaged in an argument that turned physical and then escalated until the 37-year-old male, struck the female with a wooden hairbrush. The male then fled the area prior to police arrival. The injuries are considered non-life-threatening. On June 4, 2022 at about 5:30PM, the 37-year-old male was arrested by the Brockville Police Service. He was charged with assault with a weapon and assault. He was released with conditions and a future court date. 

 

Break and Enter to Residences

On June 3, 2022 during the mid-day hours, the Brockville Police Service received calls from two different residences regarding break and enters. One was a residence on Broadway Ave. and the other on Margaret Pl. In both cases the suspect had entered into the garage. In one incident, the suspect had entered the residence. Both locations had items taken, some of which were recovered. One of the home owners actually confronted the male suspect who fled the area. Police attended to investigate. Further reports came in regarding this suspicious activity in the area. It was found that the suspect was captured on video while in possession of some of the stolen property. The suspect was identified to be a 35-year-old male. He was arrested on June 5, 2022 at about 11:00PM. He was held in custody for a bail hearing for the offences of break and enter, possession stolen property and fail to comply with probation.

 

Impaired Driving

On June 5, 2022 at about 1:30AM, the Brockville Police Service conducted a traffic stop in the area of King St. W. and Gilmour St. The stop was regarding a possible impaired driver. The driver was identified to be a 47-year-old male. There were signs indicating the male had been consuming alcohol. He gave a roadside screening breath sample which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and taken to the Brockville Police Station for further breath sample testing. It was determined that he was driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 80mg. He was charged with the offences of impaired driving and operate a vehicle over 80mg. His drivers licence was also suspended for 90 days, vehicle impounded and released with a future court date.

 

Warrants

On June 3, 2022 at about 4:30PM, an officer from the Brockville Police Service located a 42-year-old male, who was known to be wanted. The male had a bench warrant out for his arrest for failing to attend court. He was arrested and released with a new court date.

Further;

On June 3, 2022 at about 1:00PM, the Via police had located a 33-year-old male who had warrants for his arrest. These warrants were held by the Brockville Police Service. They were in relation to a charge of theft under $5,000.00 and the warrants were issued as he failed to attend court and failed to attend for fingerprinting. He was turned over to the Brockville Police Service. Once processed, he was released with a future court date.

Further;

On June 5, 2022 at about 1:30PM, the Brockville Police Service located and arrested a 43-year-old female, who was known to be wanted on a bench warrant for fail to attend court. The court date was in relation to multiple offences including impaired driving, assault and theft under $5,000.00.  She was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing.
