Impaired Driving
On June 8, 2022 at about 2:30PM, the Brockville Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Parkedale Ave. and Windsor Dr. The vehicle that caused the collision had left the immediate area and was located a short distance away. Officers spoke to everyone involved and found that no one was injured in the collision. Investigation revealed that the driver responsible for the collision was a 20-year-old female. It was observed that she was showing signs of intoxication. A Standard Field Sobriety Test was completed as there was suspicion of possible impairment by drugs. Due to testing results, she was arrested and taken to the Brockville Police Service for further testing. After testing, it was determined that she was intoxicated by alcohol as she had provided breath samples at about three times the legal limit. The vehicle was impounded, her driver’s licence was suspended and she was charged with impaired driving and operate a vehicle over 80mg of alcohol in her blood.
Break and Enter, Theft and Mischief
On June 8, 2022 at about 9:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received information of multiple youths who were in dispute over a stolen pair of shoes. Through investigation, officers learned that two males who were 15 and 16 of age, had broken into a residence on Pearl St. W. They did so to steal a pair of shoe. The shoes belonged to another youth who lived at the residence. After the theft occurred, two males 16 and 18 years of age who live at the residence, attended to the home of the possible suspects. While there, in retaliation, the two males caused damage to the door in an attempt to break in and retrieve the shoes. Officers spoke to all the individuals involved and determined that the youths primarily responsible for the incident would be charged. Some of the charges issued include break and enter to commit theft and mischief under $5,000.00.
Weapons
On June 10, 2022 at about 3:30AM, the Brockville Police Service stopped a cyclist in the area of William St., as they did not have a light. A light while cycling at night is a requirement under the Highway Traffic Act. The cyclist was stopped and identified to be a 33-year-old male. Upon the stop, it was observed that he was in possession of brass knuckles. The item was seized and he was charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon. He was released with a future court date.
Warrants
On June 8, 2022 at about 6:00PM, the Brockville Police Service arrested a 20-year-old male, who turned himself in to police. He was aware of a warrant for his arrest regarding a charge of mischief under $5,000.00, stemming from an investigation that was initiated on December 31, 2021. He was arrested and released with a future court date.
Further;
On June 9, 2022 at about 2:15PM, the Brockville Police Service located a 33-year-old male who was wanted. His warrant was in regards to a charge of failing to attend for fingerprinting. He was arrested and released after processing with a future court date.
