Fraud
On June 8th at 3:27 pm., Brockville Police took a fraud complaint at their headquarters. The Revenue Canada Scam is still very active in our area and was successful in victimizing another local resident. The request in this incident was for the victim to purchase $3,900.00 in itunes gift cards and then call back with the activation codes.
Once again, we ask people not to act on these threats. Revenue Canada would never make this request of anyone. These calls often threaten jail time, fines etc.
Please, do not take any action and contact the Brockville Police or Revenue Canada with any questions. Do not send any monies or purchase gift cards for these con artists.
