Traffic Enforcement Initiatives

On Wednesday morning between 10-11am officers with the Brockville Police were in the area of Parkedale Avenue at Windsor Drive enforcing the area School Zones.

Officers handed out 2 Provincial Offence Notices for speeding and issued 10 warnings under the Highway Traffic Act ranging from speeding, improper insurance and vehicle registration documents.

Also, early Thursday morning at approximately 12:40 am officers patrol officers observed 4 vehicles eastbound on Parkedale Avenue at a high rate of speed. The vehicles were stopped and pulled over at North Augusta Road. All parties were warning with street racing and given Provincial Offence Notices for speeding, and driving with an improperly validated permit.

 

Shoplifting

A 25 year old Brockville woman is facing charges of theft under $5000 in relation to a shoplifting incident at the Real Canadian Superstore.

At approximately 6:50 pm officers were asked to attend the Superstore after store security there witnessed the young female select a number of items and place them in a bag she had carried in with her from another department store. She was confronted outside the store and agreed to return with security and wait until police arrived.

She was subsequently arrested and turned over to police who recovered the stolen items and released her with a future court date.
