Dispute Leads to an Assault and Weapons Offence

On March 14, 2023 at about 11:00AM, the Brockville Police Service responded to a complaint of an assault at a residence on James St. W. Investigation revealed that a 20-year-old male was in an altercation over a sports jersey and he assaulted another male. Shortly after, the subject left the residence and brandished a knife towards one of the neighbours in the area. Later, the same subject returned to confront the victim again. The injuries to the victim are non-life-threatening and he did not receive medical treatment. The 20-year-old subject was arrested and held for a bail hearing for the offences of assault, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and carry concealed weapon.

 

Warrants and Possession of Stolen Property

On March 14, 2023 at about 4:30PM, officers from the Brockville Police Service observed a 34-year-old male, in the area of Chase St. The male was known to be wanted on a bench warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a charge of unauthorized possession of a weapon. The male was placed under arrest for the warrant. Upon searching the male, officers located a small amount of crystal methamphetamine, financial cheques and a handicap parking permit. The documents were not in his name and did not belong to him. The crystal meth was seized for destruction and he was additionally charged with five counts of possession of property obtained by crime and held for a bail hearing.

 

Warrants

On March 13, 2023 at about 10:00AM, a 27-year-old male, turned himself into the Brockville Police Service as he had knowledge of a warrant for his arrest. The Warrant was in relation to charges of uttering threats and fail to comply with probation. He was arrested and released with conditions and a future court date.
