March 4 – 5, 2017 Incidents

Impaired Operation

On the 4th of March, 2017 at approximately 5:30 a.m., the Brockville Police Service located and arrested a local, 18 year old male, operating a landscaping tractor on the property of St. Lawrence College, while impaired by alcohol. Investigation revealed that the male had caused significant damage to the tractor which was owned by the College. Breath samples taken from the male indicated that he was operating the tractor at approximately twice that of the legal limit of alcohol in his blood. He was charged and released from custody with a future court date.

 

Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest

On the 5th of March, 2017 at approximately 2:50 a.m., officers from the Brockville Police Service conducted a traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act offence on James Street in Brockville. The 22 year old driver from the Kemptville area, wanted by the Brockville Police Service in relation to a separate theft incident. He was placed under arrest. As officers were investigating the driver, it was learned he and his 27 year old passenger from the Prescott area were also in possession of approximately a 1/2 pound of marijuana. At that time, both males were arrested for the possession of a controlled substance also. They were taken into custody and later released with future court dates.
