Barricaded Subject

On May 19th, 2020 just before 10:00 pm the Brockville Police Service responded to a noise complaint on Millwood Avenue.  Upon arrival police recognized the male and female involved.  The 30 year old male was on conditions from a previous release order to not be at that residence.  He barricaded himself in an upstairs bedroom with a weapon.  The male made threats to harm himself and police.  The Brockville Police Service Emergency Response Team along with the Ontario Provincial Police East Region Tactics and Rescue Unit were able to negotiate a peaceful surrender almost five hours after the incident began.  As a result the male from Prescott was charged with Domestic assault, mischief under $5000 and two counts of failing to comply with conditions of a judicial release order.  He was held for a bail hearing.

Impaired

On the 19th of May 2020 at 10:15 p.m. an officer on routine patrol observed a motor vehicle being driven on California Ave.  The vehicle was stopped and the driver was found to be intoxicated by alcohol.  The male was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a conveyance and operate a conveyance with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol.  He was released from custody with a future court date.
