Failing to Comply with Probation Conditions

On April 13, 2026, at approximately 10:00pm, police received a call from a female at an apartment building on Central Avenue, in relation to her ex-boyfriend attempting to climb through her bathroom window.

The ex-boyfriend was a 32-year-old male, who was on probation with conditions not to be within 100 meters of where he knows the female to be. This includes her residence on Central Avenue.  The probation order was as a result of previous incidents involving intimate partner violence.

The female observed the male attempting to climb through the bathroom window of her apartment. When police were called, it was believed that he had fled the area. Once officers arrived on scene, evidence of the subject’s presence in the common area of the building was found. Shortly after, the subject was located hiding in a closet in the common area of the building.

The subject was arrested and held for a bail hearing after being charged with two counts of failing to comply with probation and enter a premises when entry prohibited under the Trespass to Property Act.   

Arrest Made After Multiple Victims Assaulted

On April 12, 2026, at about 5:30am, police received a call to attend the Tim Hortons on William Street for an individual reporting an assault. Police arrived on scene and spoke to a male who clearly had been assaulted with significant injuries to his face and wound on his leg that was bleeding. It was learned that the incident took place at a residence nearby on Buell Street, and that there may be another victim there.

Police attended the described address and located two other people. A female who had been assaulted with bruising and cuts on her side, and a 39-year-old male, who was in an excited state believed to be caused by drug consumption. Evidence of drug paraphernalia corroborated that drugs had been used.

The investigation revealed that the 39-year-old male, had woken in an excited state and attacked the male victim by striking him in the nose and face with some type of wooden club. As the assault continued, the male victim received injuries to his leg and the female victim received injuries on the side of her torso after being threatened. The male victim fled the residence to seek assistance and call police. Both victims attended the Brockville General Hospital after being transported by Paramedics. Their injuries are considered non-life threatening.

The 39-year-old male, was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm
  • Assault
  • Uttering Threats

The subject was held in custody for a bail hearing later that day and was released on bail with conditions and a future court date.
