Reckless Actions Lead to Stunt Driving Charges in Downtown Area

On April 17, 2026, at approximately 3:30pm, police received calls regarding a vehicle described as a black Tesla, travelling at a high rate of speed and doing donuts in the Market Street and Water Street area.

The vehicle was located downtown, and it was learned that there were two subjects in the vehicle. The driver was identified to be a 21-year-old, male. After additional investigation, evidence was gathered to support the allegation of offence.

As a result, the driver’s licence was seized, the vehicle was impounded and the driver was issued a future appearance date for provincial court.    

Arrest Made as a Result of Intimate Partner Violence

On April 16, 2026, at approximately 8:30pm, police received a 911 call where a request for assistance was made to attend an address on Wall Street, then the call disconnected.

Officers arrived on scene and located a 31-year-old, male and his girlfriend, that were involved in the dispute. Investigation revealed that the two engaged in the argument after the female confronted the male of substance use, and concerns in their relationship. As the dispute escalated the male had spit on the female multiple times, punched her abdominal area, and struck her with a salt shaker. The victim received non-life-threatening injuries and the 31-year-old, male was arrested. Once searched, officers also found a social insurance number card that doesn’t belong to him in his possession. It was actually discovered that the card in question was reported stolen in 2019.   

 The subject was held for a bail hearing after being charged with the following:

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Two counts of Assault
  • Possession of an Identity Document
