News Release – April 5 – 6, 2023

Property Damage at Multiple Locations

On April 5, 2023 at about 6:30AM, police received information regarding damage to property at the Tim Horton’s on Parkedale Ave. Police identified a 26-year-old male, who had caused damage to a digital display sign and a donation box on the property. Further investigation revealed that the male had caused damage to two vehicles at the Canadian Tire parking lot across the street. Later in the day, officers located and arrested the male for two counts of mischief under $5,000.00. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Break and Enter

On April 5, 2023 at about 1:30PM, police received a 9-1-1 call regarding at a residence on Hartley St., regarding a 36-year-old male, attempting to gain entry to the residence. The male was described as being nude and suffering from some type of mental break-down. He had gained entry into the garage and threw a rock threw a door window, to gain entry into the residence. Officers arrived and confronted the male, who became assaultive. A conductive energy weapon (TASER) was used to gain control and effect the arrest. The male did have pre-existing injuries and was taken to the hospital for medical attention. Once cleared, he was held in custody for a bail hearing for the offences of nudity, break and enter and resist arrest. 

 

Bail Violations 

On April 5, 2023 at about 4:30PM, police received information of a 35-year-old male, who had been kicked out of his temporary residence in the area of Wall St. The male was on release order with bail conditions to reside at this address. However, due to incidents that go against household rules, he was removed. The male later returned to the residence and was located there by police. He was placed under arrest for fail to comply with release order and held in custody for a bail hearing.
