Clarification of Brock Street Park Creek Incident

The Brockville Police Service has been made aware of issues circulating on social media regarding an incident on the Brock Trail on June 5th, 2025 where a 47-year-old, deceased male, was located in the creek near the Brock Street Park. 

The investigation conducted by the Brockville Police Service and the Office of the Chief Coroner has confirmed that the incident does not pose any threat to public safety, and that foul play is not suspected in the death. 

Three individuals have subsequently been charged with offences relating to the use of the debit card belonging to the 47-year-old, deceased male.  Investigators have confirmed that this activity is not connected to the cause of death.

Regarding information that is released to the public, the Brockville Police Service takes many factors into consideration and has the deepest concern for public safety. These various factors are not steadfast, routine, or appropriate in every case. The following are factors that are considered but not limited to; privacy and dignity of victims and their families, acts of a Good Samaritan, investigative integrity, empathy towards those with mental illness and/or addiction, the need to publicize information to identify potential victims of crime and give them courage to come forward, and most importantly, the level of risk to public safety.

Arrests Made after Dug Trafficking Investigation

On August 7, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., members of the Brockville Police Service Intelligence Unit, along with uniformed patrol officers, conducted a motor vehicle stop on Kent Boulevard. The stop was initiated as part of an investigation into drug trafficking.

As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old, female and a 32-year-old, male were arrested. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the seizure of the following items:

  • 28 grams of methamphetamine
  • 0.5 grams of fentanyl
  • 5 grams of cocaine
  • Digital scales
  • Canadian currency
  • Packaging materials
  • A cellular phone

Charges:

  • The 26-year-old female was charged with:
    • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
    • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
    • Failure to comply with probation
  • The 32-year-old male was charged with:
    • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
    • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
    • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

Both individuals were released on conditions and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Intimate Partner Violence

On August 7, 2025, at about 3:45pm, police received a call in regards to a male pushing a female in the area of Giant Tiger on Park Street.

Investigation revealed that a female and a 36-year-old, male were near the train tracks at the rear of Giant Tiger while in a verbal altercation. While they were shouting at one another, the male shoved the female to the ground. She attempted to get back up and when doing so, the male shoved her back down to the ground again.

Officers located the involved subjects nearby and the male was placed under arrest. It was learned that the female received minor, non-life-threatening injuries the male was bound by a probation order with a condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He was held in custody for a bail hearing after being charged with assault and failing to comply with probation.
