Arrest Made in Relation to an Altercation That Resulted in a Robbery
On January 25, 2025, at about 11:45pm, police received a call to report an altercation that had taken place, in the area of King St. W. between two subjects.
Investigation revealed that two males were observed meeting in the area of King St. W. and John St. They had a conversation that escalated and the 26-year-old, male attacked the other male, striking his head and stealing his cell phone before fleeing. The victim was taken to the Brockville General Hospital, with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 26-year-old, subject was located and arrested in the nearby area. He was held in custody for a bail hear, after being charged with robbery, assault causing bodily harm, and three counts of failing to comply with probation.
Impaired Driving Leads to Collision and Arrest
On January 26, 2025, at about 1:45am, police received a report of a single motor vehicle collision, in the area of Windsor Dr. and Centennial Rd. Information was that the vehicle had left the roadway and struck a pole.
Officers arrived and identified the driver to be a 21-year-old, female. No injuries were reported in the incident. A roadside breath sample was taken, which, resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and taken to the Brockville Police Service for further testing. That testing confirmed the driver was impaired. As a result, the driver’s licence was suspended, vehicle impounded and charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg. The subject was released with a future court date.
