Intimate Partner Violence Incident Leads to an Arrest
On January 30, 2025, at about 9:15pm, police received a 911 call regarding a disturbance at a residence on Reynolds Dr.
Officers arrived and investigation revealed that a male and his 49-year-old, girlfriend, were engaged in an argument. The officers observed an injury to the male’s forehead and that he had received medical attention. It was discovered that earlier in the day, the couple had been arguing as well. Frustrations escalated to the point that the female subject, threw a pot at the male, striking his forehead. The male then attended the Brockville General Hospital for assistance. Later in the evening, around the time of the call to police, the argument between the two continued.
The female was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon. She was released on conditions to protect the victim and with a future court date.
Male Arrested for Bail Violations
On January 29, 2025, at about 2:30pm, police received a 911 call from a male reporting that he had been attacked, with little information, and then the line disconnected. Dispatch learned that the call had come from the Hampton Inn, on Crocker Cres.
Police attended and investigation revealed that a 48-year-old, male, was the caller to 911. He had been in a minor, physical altercation with his elderly father. The male subject was upset over a separate altercation he had with his girlfriend. It was then learned that the male subject was on a release order with bail conditions and probation. These bail conditions are to abstain from communication or being around the female, due to a previous incident concerning her safety.
The male was arrested and taken to the Brockville Police Service, where he was being held for a bail hearing. While in custody, the male continued to cause damage by breaking a light, spitting and marking the walls with blood. He was charged with failing to comply with release order, failing to comply with probation and mischief under $5,000.00.
