Brockville Fire Department Responds to Structure Fire at 4 Balmoral Place

Brockville, ON – March 19, 2026 — Shortly after 5:30 p.m., the Brockville Fire Department (BFD) responded to a structure fire at 4 Balmoral Place. Due to the number of occupants inside the building, Leeds County Paramedic Service and Brockville Police Service were called to assist with emergency management, evacuation and scene control.

Upon arrival, officers conducted a systematic search of the building, clearing each floor and ensuring all residents were safely evacuated.

During the response, management at Stingers on Stewart Blvd generously opened their facility to serve as a staging and warming area for displaced residents. Their support provided a safe and comfortable space for those awaiting updates.

BFD has determined that the fire is not suspicious in nature.
Tragically, one pet in the affected apartment did not survive. A second pet was treated on scene by paramedics and transported to Island City Animal Hospital, where the animal is expected to make a full recovery. Island City Animal Hospital provided their services at no charge, demonstrating remarkable compassion during a difficult moment.

In addition, One Love Jamaican Cuisine, located inside Stingers, prepared and served complimentary meals to all residents from Balmoral Place who were displaced by the incident.

After several hours of ventilation and safety checks, residents were permitted to return to their units. Victim Services assisted those requiring temporary housing.

The Brockville Fire Department and Brockville Police Service extend their sincere gratitude to all community partners, especially Leeds County Paramedics Services for their professionalism, cooperation, and generosity. Special thanks are extended to Stingers, One Love Jamaican Cuisine, and Island City Animal Hospital for their outstanding support to the residents of Balmoral Place.
