Robbery results in charges

Three people are facing robbery charges after an incident in the City’s south end Thursday. At approximately 11:00am, on the 20th of March, 2025, Brockville Police Service received a complaint that a female had been assaulted with a baseball bat, and had personal items taken while at an address on Buell Street. Responding officers arrived and contained the area as the accused parties were still believed to be inside the residence. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and later released.

Members of the Brockville Police Service Emergency Response Team attempted to negotiate the safe surrender of the suspects for several hours, without success. With the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police Tactics and Rescue Unit, at approximately 9:30pm, all involved parties were taken into custody without further incident.

The police operation saw a portion of Buell Street closed for several hours. Investigators believe this was a targeted incident and as a result, there is not believed to be any further risk to public safety.

A 43-year-old male, 36-year-old male, and 32-year-old female, all of Brockville, have been charged in relation to the incident.

All three parties were held in custody pending a bail hearing. The allegations have not been proven in Court.
