Robbery Suspect Located and Arrested
On May 11, 2023 at about 9:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received a report of a robbery, that had just taken place, at the Shoppers Drug Mart on Parkedale Ave. The male suspect had attended the Pharmacy area and indicated that he had a gun. He then took two bottles of hydromorphone and exited the store, leaving the area in a taxi cab. The cab then headed westbound on the 401. The male then fled the cab in the area of Hallecks Rd. and into the woods. Multiple officers from the Brockville Police Service continued the search. The OPP graciously attended and provided assistance. It was learned that the suspect had actually made contact with another taxi cab after making it through the wooded area close to Lyn. All deployed officers learned of the cabs location and made contact with the suspect in the area of Mallorytown Landing. The suspect was arrested and identified to be a 27-year-old, male. Investigation revealed that no firearm was involved in the incident. It was found that the subject had committed a similar robbery, in Gananoque, earlier in the day. In both incidents, no one was injured. The subject was charged with two counts of robbery with intent, two counts of disguise with intent, uttering threats and transportation fraud. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Domestic Dispute
On May 10, 2023 at about 10:15PM, police received a call of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Kensington Pkwy. Police arrived and investigation revealed that a 31-year-old, female, had struck her boyfriend in the face. His injuries are described as non-life-threatening and he did not require medical attention. The female was placed under arrest and later released with conditions and a future court date for the offences of assault.
