Drugs and Replica Firearm Possession Lead to Arrest

On May 12, 2025, at about 2:30am, police conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Stewart Boulevard. There were two occupants identified as a 31-year-old, female who was the driver and a 39-year-old, male passenger. Open alcohol was observed inside the vehicle which led to a search.

After the search, officers located substances believed to be methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine, three pellet pistols, over $700.00 in cash and scales. The two were placed under arrest and each were charged with the offences of three counts of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and three counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking in the substances previously mentioned. They were held in custody for a bail hearing.    

Arrests Made in Relation to a Robbery incident

On May 12, 2025, at about 3:00pm, police received a report of a male who had been attacked by two other males, in the area of Park Street.

Investigation revealed that the victim was confronted by a 33-year-old, male in regard to the possession of a bicycle. An argument ensued that escalated to the 33-year-old, subject brandishing a knife as he was demanding the bicycle be turned over to him. The subject put the knife away and then the two began to fight. During the fight, the two fell to the ground and that is when another 26-year-old, male jumped into the altercation and further assaulted the victim by kicking him.

As a result, the two males instigating the altercation were arrested. The 33-year-old, male was charged with robbery, uttering threats, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and two counts of fail to comply with probation. The 26-year-old, male was charged with assault. The victim suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries and the two subjects arrested were released with conditions and a future court date.  

Arrest Made in Relation to Intimate Partner Violence

On May 10, 2025, at about 11:45pm, police received a 911 call regarding a dispute between a couple at a residence on Front Avenue.

The couple was engaged in an argument and the 25-year-old, male had been consuming alcohol through the evening. The argument was escalating and resulted in the subject shoving his wife. When officers arrested the subject, he dropped to the floor and attempted to kick the officers. He was charged with assault and assault a peace officer and held for a bail hearing.
