Construction Worker Seriously Injured in a Workplace Accident

 On May 28, 2025, at about 12:30pm, police received a 911 call regarding an incident that took place at the construction site, of a multi-level building, located at 1481 Windsor Drive.

Investigation revealed that a portion of a concrete staircase had gave-way and had fallen, pinning one of the construction workers in the stairwell. There was a significant response from all emergency services including Leeds & Grenville Paramedics, Brockville Fire Department, Brockville General Hospital staff, Ottawa Fire Service, Ornge Ontario Air Paramedics, among many others. Everyone came together and developed the best plan to assist the worker in need, with considerations being made regarding the structural integrity of the building.

After several hours, the worker was removed and taken to the Kingston General Hospital, via Ornge Air Paramedics with severe life-threatening-injuries. Officers will remain and secure the scene as a thorough investigation will take place in conjunction with the Ministry of Labour.
