Assault Investigation Leads to Arrest

On November 5, 2024, at about 1:00pm, police received a call regarding an assault that had taken place at a residence on Ann St. Investigation revealed that a woman confronted her 28-year-old, son over an issue that took place in the residence causing damage the previous day. This escalated into an argument where the male he caused more damage in the residence, grabbed his mother not letting her leave, attempted to take property and while she was calling 911, he threw a glass bottle at her. Luckily, the bottle missed and she was not seriously injured. He then fled from the residence prior to police arrival.

On November 8, 2024, at about 9:00am, the 28-year-old, male subject was arrested. He was held for a bail hearing for the offences of assault, assault with a weapon, mischief under $5,000.00 and forcible confinement.

 

Traffic Dispute Leads to Arrest

On November 10, 2024, at about 3:00am, police received a call-in relation to a road rage incident. Investigation revealed that two small groups of people had an altercation in the area of Shoppers Drug Mart, on King St. W. This led to the parties driving/following one another, in the downtown area, to the vicinity of Delhi St. and Perth St. That is where officers located the parties in involved.

There, information was reported of a physical altercation that had taken place between two of the subjects. While speaking with those involved, it was discovered that one of the driver’s identified to be a 20-year-old, male, was showing signs of impairment. A roadside breath test was administered, which, resulted in a failed. He was arrested and taken to the Brockville Police Service for further testing. This confirmed that he was operating the vehicle while impaired. The vehicle was impounded, driver’s licence suspended and charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg. The subject was released with a future court date.
