Break and Enter to a Downtown Business

On November 4, 2024, at about midnight, police received a call regarding a break and enter that had just taken place, at the Shoppers Drug Mart, on King St. W. Investigation revealed that the suspect had entered the store by breaking a window. Once they entered, they quickly selected a variety of electronic items like; PS5, Nintendo Switch, Apple Air Pods, etc. The suspect was in the store for a short period of time and fled while wearing a black coat with fur on the hood, glasses and a mask. The exact value of stolen merchandise is not yet known, but is within the approximate range of $2000.00-$3,000.00.

Threats of Violence at Brockville Collegiate Institute

On October 31, 2024, the Brockville Police Service, became aware of a youth who had made statements that were threatening towards the safety of other students and staff at the Brockville Collegiate Institute. This complaint was investigated and it was confirmed that threats of violence existed. Through the cooperation of everyone involved, the youth was arrested and charged with three counts of uttering threats and held for a bail hearing.

The safety of all attendees of our communities’ schools is a priority and will always be taken seriously.
