Unwanted Guest Arrested

A 25 year-old Brockville man was arrested late Friday morning on an outstanding warrant for Breach of Probation. Police were called to an apartment complex in the city’s north end to assist the superintendent in removing squatters. One of the unwanted guests was found to be wanted by police and as a result, was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant. He will appear in Brockville court at a later date.

Suspicious Women Arrested

Two women were arrested late Friday evening on outstanding warrants. Police were called to a north end retailer after staff believed the women were acting suspiciously. Investigation revealed that both women were currently wanted by the Brockville Police Service for outstanding charges. The 36 year-old and 26 year-old women, both of Brockville, once taken into custody were found to be in possession of illicit drugs for which they were further charged. The 36 year-old woman was released with a future court date while the 26 year-old was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Dispute Leads to Arrest

A 40 year-old Cornwall man was arrested for assault late Saturday evening. Police attended to a hotel in the city’s north end after receiving a 911 call regarding a disturbance. Investigators learned that the intoxicated man had assaulted another person during the course of an argument. He was subsequently arrested and will appear in court later this month.

Mischief Charges for Broken Window

A broken window led to the arrest of a 42 year-old Brockville man early Monday morning. Just before 8:00am police were called to an address in the city’s south end regarding a disturbance in progress. On police arrival, the man had left the area, but was located a short time later and taken into custody. He will appear in Brockville court at a later date.

Theft

At 11:00 am on the 28^th of November 2018, the Brockville Police Service were contacted about two suspects that were observed stealing cosmetics from the Real Canadian Superstore. Both subjects had left the store when police were contacted. A 31 year old female was arrested in the parking lot of the store. She was charged with theft, possession of property obtained by crime and breach of probation. She was released with a future court date.

The second party, a 31 year old male, was identified through CCTV footage and arrested on November 29^th. He has been charged with theft under $5000.

Warrants

A 33 year old male was arrested shortly before 10:00 am this morning when an observant officer spotted the male on King St. The male fled the area, but was seen a short time later without his coat in an apparent attempt to avoid detection. The male fled a second time, but was located in a nearby apartment building.

The 33 year old had warrants being unlawfully at large and breach of probation. A search incident to arrest led police to lay 4 counts of possession of property obtained by crime, 4 counts of failing to comply with a recognizance of bail and personation. The male was found to be in possession of stolen credit cards and had used a false name in an attempt to avoid arrest.

Assault

The Brockville Police Service responded to an assault on an 18 year old male Sunday evening. The victim sustained a head wound that required medical attention. The assault took place as the result of a long standing feud. A 17 year old and an 18 year old have been identified as suspects. Charges of assault bodily harm are pending against the two suspects.

Shoplifter arrested

A 36 year-old Brockville woman was arrested for shoplifting late Friday evening. Shortly before 9:00pm police were called to a north end business after staff observed the female concealing merchandise in her bag. Upon police arrival the woman was placed under arrest for theft under $5000. She will appear in Brockville court at a later date.

Noise complaint leads to arrest

A noise complaint at a south end residence led to the arrest of a 48 year-old Brockville man late Friday night. Just after 10pm police attended the residence in response to a complaint of excessive noise coming from the address. Upon speaking with officers, police learned the man was wanted for failing to re-attend court. He was subsequently arrested on the strength of the outstanding warrant and released with a future court date.

Suspicious person arrested

A suspicious person complaint led to the arrest of a local 38 year-old female late Saturday morning. Shortly before noon, police received a complaint of people going into dumpsters at a mid-town business. Responding officers located the female and found her to be wanted by a neighboring police agency for outstanding charges. The woman was placed under arrest on the strength of the warrant and later released with a future court date.

Communication leads to arrest

Ignoring several court orders led to the arrest of a 22 year-old Brockville man early Saturday afternoon. Earlier in the day, police received a complaint that the man had communicated with a female contrary to the conditions of his probation orders. Officers on general patrol located the man later in the day and placed him under arrest for seven counts of breach of probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Dispute Leads to Arrest

A dispute in the City’s North end led to the arrest of a 24 year-old Quebec man early this morning. Police were called to a North end business after witnesses reported an altercation between a man and a woman. As a result of the investigation, the 24 year-old man was arrested for Assault and released with a future court date.

Bail Violations

A 51 year old male was arrested for violating his bail conditions by attending a residence on Daniel St. that he was prohibited from. The male was arrested shortly after midnight when the complainant contacted police. He was arrested without incident and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Break and Enter

On November 20^th at 8:46 am, the Brockville Police Service responded to reports of a possible break and enter at the Brockville Yacht Club. The caller indicated that they had observed a person climb into a boat that had been secured for storage. The complainant became suspicious and contacted police.

Officers arrived on scene and located two males, 22 and a 23 year, inside one of the boats. The officer’s investigation revealed that several vessels had been broken into. Both males were arrested and charged with break and enter and possession of property obtained by crime. The 22 year old male was also charged with assaulting a police officer.

Assault

On the 17^th of November 2018 at 1:30 pm the Brockville Police Service responded to a complaint of assault. A 37 year old female has been charged as result after it was discovered that she launched a pop can at the complainant. The victim and the accused had been in an argument when the assault took place. The female has been released from police custody with a future court date.

Vehicle Fire

November 16th at 09:33 am the Brockville Police Service along with Brockville Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on Glenn Wood Place.

The fire was quickly extinguished and is not suspicious in nature.

Break and Enter

On Friday November 16th 2018 officers were dispatched to a Break and Enter on Kensington Parkway. Officers arrived and spoke with the complainant who advised that the male in the apartment with him broke in and was not authorized to be there. The complainant advised that this was his daughter’s apartment and that the male had been told the previous day that he was not allowed there. Officers spoke with the accused who advised that he did not remember how he got in the apartment. He was arrested and charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling.

Domestic

A 58 year old male was arrested in relation to a domestic occurrence investigated at a residence on King St. on the evening of the 14^th of November 2018. Officers were called by a female complainant reporting the disturbance. Officers attended the address and discovered a male at the residence contrary to a court ordered condition to not be there. He was arrested without incident and held for a bail hearing.

Break and Enter

J.L. Jordan School was broken into overnight of the 13^th of November to the morning of the 14h. The matter is being investigated at this time. No arrests have been made at this point. All persons offering information are eligible for a cash reward, also paid anonymously. The rewards run from $50 to $1,000 depending on the information. Unlike other reward programs which stipulate ‘arrest and conviction’, Crime Stoppers pays upon arrest only. The waiting time for the payout is drastically reduced. Foot Pursuit

On Wednesday at 12:00 pm, a 45 year old male was arrested with the assistance of our police K9 “Diesel” and his two legged coworkers. Officers on routine patrol observed a male that was known to them. The male had an outstanding warrant of arrest and fled the area when he observed police. Officers quickly set up a perimeter and the K9 unit was deployed. The male was located a short time later when his hiding spot was discovered by Diesel. The male was taken into custody without incident.

Shoplifting and Mischief

In separate incidents a 22 year old male and a 23 year old male were arrested at Walmart for shoplifting yesterday. The second male has also been charged with mischief after he caused damage to police cruiser door. Both have been released from custody with future court dates.

Domestic

A 21 year old male is now charged with criminal harassment, mischief, break and enter as well as breaching his probation in relation to a domestic incident. The complainant attended the station to report the harassment in the afternoon on the 14^th of November. After making the complaint the complainant returned to her residence and discovered that the suspect had broken into her residence.

The male was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
