February 22 – Bizarre Behaviour

Police called to the Comfort Inn on Kent Blvd. in regards to a man exhibiting bizarre behaviour. 52 yr. old male from the Ottawa apprehended under the Mental Health Act and taken to the Brockville General Hospital for evaluation.

Public Intoxication

Complaint received of a male party acting strange running in and out of traffic near Windsor Dr. and Parkedale Ave. Subject had ran into Kelseys restaurant and then took off on foot into the nearby Galaxy theatre. A 19 yr. old Brockville male was located by police at the theatre and arrested for Public Intoxication. He was also a suspect in pulling a fire alarm when at one of the a/m locations. Released when sober.

Investigation continuing into fire alarm.

Public Intoxication

On February 23rd, police noted disturbance while on general patrol out front of the Phoenix bar. A 21 yr. old, local male was arrested for public intoxication. Subject causing problems for staff and would not follow direction. Released later when sober with a provincial offences notice.

Police Assistance

In the afternoon on February 23rd, police responded to assist ambulance after a 58 yr. old female fell in the area of King St. W. Taken to Brockville General hospital a left leg injury.

Mischief

The morning of February 24th, the Police took several calls of spray painting type mischiefs to buildings in town. Police have suspects (not to be named at this time) and investigation is ongoing.

Motor Vehicle Collision

This morning there was a collision at approximately 6:40 am. The collision occurred on Highway 29 between Victoria Road and Centennial Road. A vehicle was travelling Northbound and another vehicle exited a driveway in front of the northbound vehicle causing a collision. One female driver was transported to BGH with non-life threatening injuries, the other driver was not injured. An adult female was charged with failing to yield when exiting private drive. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage.

Motor Vehicle Collisions

On the 18th of February 2014 at 10:50 am officers attended a two vehicle collision on Parkedale Ave at Stewart Blvd. At this time a vehicle had rear ended a city bus. There were passengers on the bus, however, we are happy to report there were no injuries. Damage was very minor. No charges were laid.

On the 18th of February 2014 at 5:35 pm officers attended a hit and run at Bramshot and Ormond Street. At this time a vehicle had gone off the road and was stuck in the snowbank. Witnesses indicate that a small blue car caused the accident and fled North on Ormond Street. Any person with information is asked to contact the Brockville Police at 613-342-0127.

On the 18th of February 2014 at 7:10 pm officers attended to Parkedale Ave and Ormond Street in relation to a two car collision. At this time no injuries were reported and a 21 year old female was charged with failing to yield.

Air Canada Scam

The Brockville Police are warning the community of a recent scam involving Air Canada. Local residents have received an email from Air Canada indicating that an airline ticket had been purchased on their credit card. The email is seeking credit card information with the intention they would credit your account for the error. There was no airline ticket purchased on the credit card and this email did not originate with Air Canada. Air Canada advised that this is a scam. Please do not provide your credit information to anyone.

Fail to Remain

Police are seeking witnesses to a “fail to remain” accident in front of 66 Park St. The accident occurred sometime overnight Saturday the 15th to Sunday. There was extensive damage to the vehicle that was hit. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Brockville Police Service at (613)342-0127.
